"I'm just going to spend my night at the hotel's restaurant Nat. Yes, I'm perfectly fine before you ask." Steve reassured Natasha.

Steve couldn't stop the words coming out of his mouth. He was confused, what was going on with him? He asked himself. The last thing he remembered was laying in the pool of his blood, because of Meara.

"I told you I wasn't going to attend that since the beginning, it isn't my style." He said, while flipping through the menu that was placed in front of him by the waiter.

The waiter smiled sweetly at him and chuckled. All of Steve's actions were involuntarily, it was like he was trapped in his own body. He was talking to no one since Natasha's voice was not heard through the phone.

"Hope you have a wonderful stay at Hotel California." The waiter told him, giving him another smile before disappearing into the restaurant.

"You know I don't know anyone here." He told her looking around at the people sitting at the tables.

He didn't know to who he was responding to, Natasha wasn't on the phone. But it was the same conversation he had before meeting Meara.

"Whatever you say, Nat. I'll talk to you tomorrow." He then ended the call and put his phone in his pocket.

He continued reading the menu, he had no idea of what half of the things on it were but they sounded good to him. When the waiter came by, he simply ordered  water.

Steve confused looked over at the bar, where he saw her. She was about to sit down when she turned around and saw him. She gave him a smirk before sitting down on the bar.

He continued watching her, she looked around the bar and now her face was covered in tear marks. He hadn't heard her cry, and that made him even more confused. Soon a man sat down next to her. He could hear the conversation clear as day.

"Are you okay?." The man asked her, Meara looked up from the bar and stared into his eyes. She chuckled sweetly.

"What makes you think I'm not fine?" She asked him, her eyes twinkling under the light from the bar. With every word she spoke, The man felt as if he were in a trance.

"Well I can see you were crying." He said to her, she smirked and shook her head lightly.

"Does that win you all the ladies?" She asked him, the man smiled at her and shook his head.

"I'm Jack Nguyen." He told her.

"I'm Meara Poiseson. Weird name I know." She said laughing. The man smiled, her laugh was intoxicating. He didn't know why he was reacting this way, she was just captivating. "And if you want to know what I was crying about, it's just relationship problems."

The man gave her a sad smile. "I've been through some myself, you tell me yours. I will tell you mine, our little burden." She nodded.

"I got into a fight with a guy who I thought was the one, but he didn't love me. So I got rid of him, I walked out the door and left him." She said looking into the distance.

"Well, whoever he was. He was a dick" He told her, she laughed and nodded, she looked over his shoulder and smiled at Steve.

Steve couldn't continue listening to the conversation, he was so confused. And he was very worried, he tried to get up from his table but couldn't. It was as if a force was pushing him down. He looked over at the bar again, but they were gone.

Steve sighed and looked around the restaurant and furrowed his eyebrows as he noticed that all the people in it were men. They all sat with horrified expression's but it was as if none of the could talk. He tried talking, but couldn't.

This continued happening for a long time, a new man joined Meara at the bar and the same man would appear sitting at the restaurant later in a different table. Steve's table was soon filled with other men too. He didn't know what was happening to him or how to get out. And every night one song played on repeat "Hotel California".
