"Do you think he's still here?" Tony asked Natasha as the two of them along with Bruce stood in front of "Hotel California".

"The system sent me a message saying he never checked out." She told him, while Bruce was taking photos of the place. Natasha got annoyed at the constant click of the camera and ripped it from his hands before throwing it against the ground, it breaking in a million pieces.

Bruce looked at her incredulously. "Are you kidding me?" He asked, she shrugged and followed Tony inside the building. "Wait for me!" He yelled after them.

Once inside Natasha went over to the check-in counter and started asking the man about Steve. The older looking man, behind him cowering as he saw the intense look in her eyes. Bruce looked proudly at her, while Tony smiled at the women passing by in bikinis.

"I need the last name of the person ma'am." The man who's tag read "Michael" asked her after receiving various threats from Natasha.

"Rogers." She told him impatiently, the man started looking at his computer.

"I'm sorry Miss but he appears to have checked out, a little over a month ago." Michael told her, Natasha furrowed her eyebrows.

"But I got an email that said he didn't." She told him showing him, her phone.

"I'm sorry maybe it was an error. But you are all free to stay while you look for your friend." He told them, specifically looking over at Tony.

"Thanks." She told him walking away from the counter and reuniting with Bruce and Tony. "I don't know where he could be." She told them anxiously.

"I'm going to check out the restaurant." Tony told them.

"Yeah, because if he went missing that's were he's been all these time, eating at the hotel restaurant." Bruce told him with crossed arms, Tony shrugged and made his way to the restaurant.

He sat at the bar and asked for a whiskey, he looked around the restaurant not really paying attention. He thanked the bartender when he gave him the drink, he took a small sip. And looked next to him when he saw a girl sit next to him, she had dried tears on her face.

He wanted to not pay attention to her. As he didn't know how to console a sad person, but something in him couldn't help it. He drank the remaining of his drink and tapped her shoulder.

"Are you okay?" He asked her akwardly, Meara looked up from the bar and stared into his eyes. Tony inhaled deeply, captivated by her eyes. She chuckled sweetly.

"What makes you think I'm not fine?" She asked him, her eyes twinkling under the light from the bar. With every word she spoke, Tony felt as if he were in a trance.

"The tears gave it away." He told to her, she smirked and shook her head lightly.

"Does that win you all the ladies?" She asked him, Tony smiled at her and shook his head.

"How would it? I'm Tony Stark." He told her.

"I know." She told him, he grinned at this. "I'm Meara Poiseson. Weird name I know." She said laughing. Tony smiled, her laugh was intoxicating. He didn't know why he was reacting this way, she was just captivating. "And if you want to know what I was crying about, it's just relationship problems."

Tony huffed. "Wow, what a small world. I just broke up with my fiancé." He told her with a suggestive smile. "Why don't you tell me your story, Meara." She nodded.

"I had a relationship with a guy who told me I was his everything, turns out he had a wife and kids in California, so I got rid of him. I mean I don't get why he would lie to me and cheat on his wife." She said looking into the distance.

"Well that's how men are, we suck." He told her, nudging her shoulder with his, she laughed and nodded. "Want to get out of here?" He asked her, she nodded and grabbed his hand and left.

Steve stared at the interaction with wide eyes, he wanted to scream at Tony. Tell him to not follow her, but he couldn't. He had learned that by now. Soon Tony would be one of the men trapped inside the restaurant, because you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
