It was the day of Quidditch tryouts.
I was sitting on the benches with Draco. It was a cloudy day, and I hoped it wouldn't rain.
On the pitch, the Slytherin team was gathered, deep in discussion. The ones trying out for the team stood away by the side, anxious looks upon their faces.
"Why did you quit?" I asked Draco absentmindedly.
He gave a one-shoulder shrug, "Quidditch is too time consuming. I've got other things to focus on."
I smiled sadly, "Well, they've got to find a new captain now."
"I heard they're promoting Zabini to captain," Pansy informed us, walking over. "Am I late?"
"Zabini?" Daphne piped in, appearing out of nowhere to sit beside Draco. "It's Flint. He's captain now. Zabini's co-captain."
"Damn, look at all the talent in our group." I marveled, to which Pansy snorted.
Draco rolled his eyes.
We waited a few more minutes, before Daphne got impatient. She stood up, waving her arms wildly. "Get on with it!" She shouted, and the entire Slytherin team turned.
I laughed awkwardly, inching further from the blonde girl.
Blaise thumbed up from the pitch, before slapping Marcus on the back. Marcus was literally dozing off.
On the Quidditch pitch.
"Who even made him captain?" Draco groaned.
"You, apparently." Pansy answered casually.
Draco gave her an alarmed look, "I did?"
I sighed, "Draco, you have the memory span of a goldfish."
At my words, Draco looked so offended, we all started to laugh.
The tryouts commenced then. It was filled with arguments and injuries and tears and cheers.
Watching the Slytherin team play once again brought back many memories.
I smiled, a hint of sorrow nestled in my heart.

"Aria! Ugh, hurry up!"
I groaned at Pansy's yell.
Pansy and Daphne were both waiting for me, impatient.
I ran my fastest up the slope.
Upon reaching, Daphne gave me a look, "Merlin's beard, Aria. You took almost ten billion years to get up here."
"Did you see that slope?!" I snapped, as Pansy steered us both towards the Quidditch pitch. "What were they thinking, making a slope that steep?!"
Before Daphne could reply, Pansy cut in. "Come on, the game's starting."
The entire pitch was filled, the stands crowded. Everyone was here to watch the last match of the year.
The Slytherin stands made way for Pansy, who was shoving people out of the way. I trailed after her, apologizing left and right. Everyone knew how Quidditch-crazed Pansy was, so it wasn't a big deal.
We arrived at the front just in time to see both teams dressed in red and green enter the pitch.
"Whoo!" Daphne cheered loudly.
I chuckled.
There, I quickly caught sight of Draco and Blaise, talking animatedly. Draco was boasting, I could tell. Blaise was making fun of him. It amazed me how well I read my friends.
