The corridors were quiet.

My footfalls echoed, the sound bouncing off the walls.

I made my way to the hospital wing, heart twisting in a sense of concern and anxiety I couldn't explain.

When I caught a glimpse of the hospital wing, my pace picked up. I slowed only at the door.

Composing myself, I gently pushed the doors open.

The beds inside were all empty, except for one.

My brother was lying in it, unmoving.

"Is he okay?" I questioned, a hint of concern escaping. "What happened?"

Hermione, who was the only person in the room, answered me. "He was poisoned. He'll be fine in a few days' time." Her tone was clipped.

Surely she and I weren't exactly on good terms, especially given how this year had passed, but I was still Ron's sister.

I didn't question her.

I simply nodded, "Okay."

None of us bothered to speak up afterwards, and I shot Hermione a small smile.

"Thank you. For being with him." I said softly, before I left the room with a heavy heart.

Outside, just as the doors closed behind me, I stayed put. I leant my back against the heavy stone doors, and voices reached my ears.

"I didn't expect her to visit. Doesn't she have something else to do? With her Slytherin friends?" My twin's voice sounded.

"Ronald, she cares about you. She doesn't show it much, but you're still her brother. She cares for you." Was Hermione's reply.

There was a bitter scoff, and despite all the times Ron has done it, this one still shattered my heart.

"Care? She wouldn't know what that was, even if it waved itself in her face."

I watched the leaves fall around us.

The wind was gentle, carrying their weight gently, picking them off the ground.

Beside me, Pansy and Blaise were quiet, deep in thought.

I turned to my left. Draco was silent as well. His eyes were faraway, lips tensed.

I let out a small sigh, resting my head on his shoulder.

I made my way over to the hospital wing.

I had heard from the Gryffindors that Ron was awake now. Well, more often awake than not.

It made me anxious to know what he'd be like towards me.

Before I knew it, the dark brown doors loomed just before me. My hands were on the doors, about to push them open.

Then, I halted.

"Malfoy won't get away with this." Harry Potter's voice sounded from within.

The breath caught in my throat, and I pressed myself to the doors to catch his words a little better.

"He's gonna do it, soon. I just know it," Harry was saying. "I have to stop him."

"What? Go against Malfoy and the rest of the Death Eaters? Have you lost your mind?" Hermione's frantic voice sounded.

"Well, I can't just let him murder Dumbledore, can I, Hermione?" Harry snapped.

The breath left my body.
