chapter 3

holly's pov

well that didn't go as planned. the cab driver turned to me. " ma'am this is a far drive its gonna cost you" he tells me. " how much?" i ask. " $50" i sat there in shock. " but i only have 300 dollars and thats for the hotel im staying" he pulls over and kicks me out by a coffee shop. then he drives off. well aren't you sweet. all of a sudden it starts pouring down rain. " OKAY ! THANK YOU . JUST ANOTHER REASON TO MAKE THIS DAY WORSE" lighting crakles across the sky and thunder screams . maybe this wasn't a good idea. but i have no money to go home. i have no place to stay. i mean what was i thinking? i had a terrible nightmare and had a feeling to come find ross and make things right. im an idioit! my makeup is pooring down my face due to the rain. i am to strong to cry . i think i dried myself out when i was 16. but now im 18 . i don't need to cry anymore. " excuse me ?" a guy asked me. he was blonde with green eyes. he was tannish and was soaking wet just like me. i look up at the guy. " i hope you don't mind me asking , but are you ok? do you need help?" he was british. i loved his accent. i shake my head and look down. " look why don't we go inside and dry off. we can talk over coffee" he asks. i stay scilent. " i hear its better to let everything out . it will make you feel better" i think for a momment and shrug. he holds out his hand and pulls me up. we walk into the coffee shop. we got some stares but i didn't care. they don't know me . they don't what happened to me. they can stay out of it. " andrew  where have you been! oh your soaking wet ! let me get you a towel" a lady asks from behind the counter. " im fine mom. can we get this young lady a towel please " he asks looking at me. the lady nods and goes to get one. " so what would you like? anything of the menue. its on the house" he tells me. i shrug. " a-anything " i stutter. he nods and hands me the towel. then orders our coffee. 2 minutes later he returns with the coffee and we sit by the window . " so you never told me your name?" he states stirring his coffee. " im h-holly" he smiles. " thats a lovely name holly. im andrew . but you can call me andy " i nod. " so i believe you have a story to tell?" i have to admit . i was scared to death telling a complete stranger my life story. but i finnal gave in and started from the begining . back to when ross left. i told him about me forgetting everything due to this weird dream and i told him every detail of it. and of course my stupidity coming out here. his girlfriend getting me kicked out and what not. "..... and so now im here. i have no money to get home . i have no place to stay . and im soaking wet. " i finish. " sounds rough..... do you feel at least a little better  now that its of your chest?" he asks. i nod. " you know we are hiring. you could work here and earn some extra cash. and we have a secret room with a bed and stuff. you could stay here" i narrowed my eyebrows. " in a coffee shop?" he laughs. " well you have no where to stay. and im not gonna creep you out by inviting you to stay with a stranger " that makes me laugh. " i guess you have a point. but do you have a dryer? my luggage is as soaked as me " he nods. " common let me introduce you to my mom. she owns the shop" i nod and follow him behind the counter. " mom. this is holly. she needs money and a place to stay. can she stay here. and work here?" he asks. his mom looked me up and down . " sure . your training starts tomorrow. and im sure andrew will show you the room. im silvia by the way. its nice to meet you" she  was about 5'5. andrew was taller than her. she had faded blonde hair and green eyes like andy. " thank you so much silvia " she nodded and andy started to take me to the room. he handed me a key and opened it up. the room had a queen size bed in the center. a dresser on each side on the wall.  a tv . a lamp. a window. a ceiling fan and a desk. the walls were white. and dressers were wooden. along with the desk. it was a very plain room but it was a place to stay in so i was grateful. " thank you " i hug him he was shocked for a minute but hugged back eventually. " for what?" he asks. " for listening to my long boring life story, for getting me a job and a place to stay. for being there when i needed it and no one else would have picked up a random girl that was soaking wet and lost. just..... thank you for everything " he nods. " of course.  i hope this makes us friends " i nod. " just as long as its nothing more " he laughs. " do you see me? i have a lady . i mean just look at me" i laugh. " by the way the washing machine and dryer are right across from the room. i can help you un pack tomorrow if you'd like. im gonna throw your things in the dryer ok ?" i nod and he leaves with my things to the landry room. i pull out my phone. it was soaked. it was completely ruined. i sigh and through it on the bugandy colored comferter on the bed ( a really dark red ) . i look in the mirror that hangs above my desk. my blonde hair was stringy and small hairs stuck out. my mascara was runny and black eyeshadow was sumaged. my managers outfit was chaving against my skin . i looked like a girl from private school that got coaught up in the middle of a shower of water. OMG!!!!! i totally forgot ! i haven't finished school yet! where am i supposed to go now? the year just started!!! oh my gosh . what did i do! haley is probably worried sick. mom is out of town for a month . dad is still dead he wouldn't care anyways. and hannah is probably freaking out along with haley. i need to call them. i walk out of the room and lock it . as i walk down the hallway i find silvia. " silvia. i really need to call my sister to tell her where i am is there a phone i could use?" i ask desperatly. " sure sweetheart. there is a wall phone over there on the kitchen. do you need anything else?" she asked. " no ma'am not right now. thank you !" i rush to the kitchen and find the phone and dial the home phone . hannah answers it. " hello?" she asks. " hannah! " i let out a breath i didn't know i was holding. " OH MY GOSH HOLLY!!! ( HALEY COME HERE ITS HOLLY!) " haley snatches the phone im guessing. " HOLLY SIENNA THOMAS! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU !!!!" she asks worridly. " don't worry im fine. im in california " i calm her . " california!? your out of your mind!!!!" she breaths. " i know i know. i found ross. he has a girlfriend that totally lied to his face. long story short he kicked me out. i have no money and im staying at a coffee shop . i know it sounds crazy but i am they have a room here and i got a job to get money to go back home" i explain. " i can't believe you ran away to california holly! what were you thinking!!!!" she asks.  she wasn't mad but you could hear her worry in her voice. " i don't know . im sorry but your not in charge of me im 18 " i tell her. " i know . but you know your like my best friend ever. i can't lose you . and hannah needs you just as much as she needs me " hannah takes the phone back. " holly , please come back home haley is driving me nuts " i laugh. " don't worry im working on it. it might be a while though. im planning on switching to a school up here while im away . can you get haley to tell the school " i ask. " sure , how long do you think it will be?" she asks. " its like 1,000 dollars to get home. plus my school funds which will be about 500 dollars. and my rent . i only have 300 dollars and i only get paid 7.50 an hour. i honestly dont know it could be months . " i run my fingers through my hair. " thats a long time holly . to long " " i know , i know. but i have to do what i have to do . " i frown. " okay . i love you , miss you ALOT. btw we have been calling your phone several times " " my phone got soaked in the rain. i have to go " i tell them . " bye holly" haley screams from the backround. " bye" and i hang up. andy comes around the corner with my clothes all dry now. " hey ." he smiles . " hey, do you know of any schools i could go to while im here?" i ask. " sure you can go to mine. my mom can sign you up " i smile gratefully. " thank you. she can run by tonight and get you a uniform. i go to a private school" i nod. " sounds great. your a life saver " he smiles no problem. you should go to bed now. school is tomorrow. and here are your clothes. all dryed up " i take the basket from him. " thanks andy. you didn't have to-" " i wanted to . trust me im 18.  i make my own desitions now " i giggle. " yea. i get what cha mean. " " good night holly" he says. " night andy " i walk down the hall into my room an drop the basket in front of the bed .  i realise i still have smeared makeup on my face. i grab a towel from the bathroom thats in my room and wipe it off. i was too tired to change so i just stumbled back to the bed a collapsed on it drifting off to sleep ,...
