What Just Happened?

chapter 9

I rush over to see what Megan is yelling about.

Oh gosh I hope she didn't hurt herself!!

I go over to find Megan standing around, looking perfectly fine.

She looks at my and gives me a creepy smile.

What the heck?

"Uhh, Megan, are you alright?"

"I found someone!!!"

...

What is she talking about?

...

Ohhhhhhhhh......

It all made sense,

I told her to holler if she found someone...

sigh.

I look around Megan, and to her left, is mom.

"MOM!!!"

Oh my Gosh I can't believe she found her!

I stumble over to my mom, and Megan just starts to stare off into space.

"NICKI!! MEGAN FOUND MOM!! GET OVER HERE!!!"

"OMG REALLY?????"

Five seconds later there's my sister looking over mom with me.

She seemed to be alright, a few bruises, some scratches, but other that that she seemed to be alright.

...

But she's not breathing.

Oh my Gosh, why is she not breathing?!?!?!?!

I start to hyperventilate , Nicki is doing the heimlich maneuver, and Nelson is sitting with Megan over by the milk.

Nicki starts to cry,

it's not working!!

We sit like that bawling our eyes out, me hugging mom, Nicki crying beside her.

An hour passes by, and Nicki finally gets up and pulled me off of mom.

"Come On Amber, we have to go,"

I didn't want to go, I wanted to stay with mom hoping she would get up.

But she never did.

I slowly stand up, and Megan comes and hugs me.

I hug her back.

Nicki and Megan walk out of the store, I stay a little while longer, taking my final glance at her.

Finally, I hobble out of the store along with them.

We decided to go to the hospital again to check up on our friends, and to have me checked out too.

Nelson stays close to me while we're walking.

It's funny how animals know when were sad and try and comfort us.

I look down at him and smile.

I turn my head to see the sun setting in the distance.

It looked so nice, peaceful actually.

Nicki was kicking a stone as we walked, and suddenly started singing.

"There's always gonna be another mountain,"

"I'm always gonna wanna make it mooooove,"

It was the song "The Climb" from Miley Cyrus.

I find myself singing along,

"Always gonna be an uphill battle,"

"Sometimes I'm gonna have to loooose."

I start to smile, this song made me feel determined to get to the hospital.

"Ain't about how fast I get there,"

"Ain't about whats waiting on the other siiiiiiiiddddeee,"

"It's the cliiiiiiiiimb!"
