What Just Happened?

(chapter 8)

I Hobble over as fast as I can to Megan hoping she's ok.

"Megan? Are you ok? Megan!"

"...what...what just happened?"

Sigh... she's alright...

"We had an earthquake Meg, are you ok?"

"... Who... who are you?"

Oh no.

"It's me, Amber, I'm your best friend!"

"...Who am I?...Where am I?"

Tears start to roll down my cheeks.

She's lost her memory...

"Your name is Megan Nicholson, your in Sydney Australia, you don't remember anything?"

"... Who's Sydney?"

Oh my Gosh...

She doesn't remember...

"No no no, Sydney is a place, not a person,"

"...oh..."

I help Megan off of the ground.

"Megan, we need to get you to a hospital, but we have to find our mother first, do you think you can walk?"

"...What's a hospital?"

Sigh...

"Just follow us Meg, we're going to help you, ok?"

"ok..."

I start to hobble forward, Nicki helps Megan walk, and Nelson does his same routine.

We finally reach the grocery store.

It took us a little longer than expected to get there because of the delay with Megan,

But I'm so glad she's not hurt. I just wish she didn't lose her memory...

She's asking Nicki a whole bunch of questions, like,

"Where are we going?"

"What's your name?"

"Why is that dog following us?"

Nicki was being very good with her, I was glad she was with me.

We go into the grocery store, and all of the shelves are on the floor.

There are sparks flying from the lights.

Fruits and vegetables are on the ground, covered in dust.

We were going to be here a while...

"Ok, Nicki, you check in the fruit and vegetable section, I'll check in the meat and grain area,"

She nodded and told Megan we were looking for our mother,

"Who's that?"

Nicki looked at me with a What-Should-I-Do look, then smiled and said,

"Ok, we're looking for people, and if you see one, yell, ok?"

Megan looked a little confused, but then nodded her head and started searching.

Nelson followed Nicki while I started looking.

I start to call out to see if mom can respond.

"Mom? Are you here?"

10 minutes of searching later, and I just can't seem to find her...

I'm just about to give up when,

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!"

A shout out to my best friend Megan (Megan15xo) who inspired me to write books!!! (Is also same Megan in book!)
