Chapter 9

The Two Faced Professor

I was on my way to the library to return to return a book I had borrowed, when someone hit me from behind. I crumbled to the ground as I tried to blink the spots from my vision, and a blurry figure approached me from the shadows. I blacked out after that, but I could have swore that I smelt garlic.

The next thing I knew, I was lying on the stone floor of an empty room. I glanced around as I got up, and spotted a strange mirror at the center of the room. I approached it with caution, but as soon as I was close enough I found it to be more then ordinary mirror. At first, I saw only myself, but as I got closer, an image of my mother appeared, along with a young man who greatly resembled me in appearance. He had jet black hair, dark eyes, and a cruel smile. I looked behind me in confusion before turning back to the mirror. My mother smiled at me through the mirror before reaching over to take the man's hand. Her gaze flickered to something behind me and before I could turn to see what it was, I heard a cold voice call out to me. " Amazing isn't it? The mirror of erised, said to show a person's deepest and truest desire. What do you see, Emrys?"

" What do you want?" I asked ignoring his question and he chuckled. " Right to the point I see." I heard him step closer and I stiffened when I felt him stop directly behind me. My reflection shifted and as I watched Quirrell's image appeared. " You?" I said in confusion.

" I apologize, my child. This is not how I had planned our first meeting." The voice called out and I spun around to face the stuttering professor, who I'm sure had not spoken a word. " I wish to see her."

Quirrell backed away from me and my eyes widened as he began to unwrap the turban from his head. He turned as it fell to the floor and I had to hold in a scream as a face formed on the back of his head. " Yes, my child, this is what I've become. Reduced to living off another, just to survive. There is something that can help me, something that I require your help to collect."

" The Sorcerer's stone." I muttered, remembering how Hermione had asked about Nicolas Flamel, and he smirked. " Yes, that's right. With the stone, I can return fully. We could be a family again, you and I."

" What about mum?" I asked.

" I'm afraid your mother no longer possesses the stomach for it."

" And what makes you think that I do?"

" You are my daughter. My magical blood runs in your veins. It is what you were born for, Emrys."

" And what if I don't want anything to do with any of this?"

" Your still young, in time you will come to understand that your place is at my side." He told me before Quirrell suddenly pulled his wand from within his robes. " We can talk more about this, after I have killed the Potter Boy, and returned to my own body."

There was a flash of bright light and then I felt my body connect with the floor once more.

*********

I let out a groan as I opened my eyes and looked over at the sound of paper tearing to find my three friend sitting at the foot of my hospital bed. Jackie sat near my feet sorting out their chocolate frog cards, while Cass opened the boxes, and Spencer dramatically and savagely bit the heads off of the frogs. I stared at them for a couple of minutes before calmly asking. " What are you guys doing?"

" Enjoying our reward for sitting loyally at your bedside while you rest up from your encounter with the two faced Professor." Cass told me and I stared at them for another moment before asking. " Can I have one?"

" Nope." They all responded. I spotted Harry lying in a bed closer to the door, and I raised an eyebrow in confusion. " What happened?" I asked and for the next several minutes the three of them, while eating all my get well gifts, told me about everything that Harry, and his two friends had done. After their story was done, Spencer grabbed one of the unopened boxes of Bertie bot's every flavor beans and opened the box with a curious look on his face. " Spencer-" I started to say having any idea of what he was going to try, but I was cut off as Cass cried. " Do it."

" I really don't think-" I tried again, but Spencer had already dumped the entire box in his mouth. It seemed to happen in slow motion, his hair turned an ugly bright yellow green color, along with his face before he jumped off the bed and ran from the hospital wing as fast he could.
