Chapter 17 - I wish I could loved her

Months had past since the day Zac and Vanessa last talked. He tried to call her but she never picked up, so, at a certain point, he gave up. He thought that, maybe, she's working and doesn't want to be bothered, but the situation was getting too strange.

Two days before Christmas, something happened. 

The day was rainy and Zac decided to stay at home. This year, for Christmas, his house was receiving Efron's family and he had to decorate the house and prepare for the big day. Everything was going great, Dylan came to help and the house was looking awesome.

- Hey Zac, where are the lights, bro? - Dylan asked.

-Oh...shit! I totally forgot, I will buy them right away, let me just put some appropriate clothes!

And, as fast as he said this, he went to his room to put a shirt and some sneackers. All dressed up, he left his house and went to the nearest store to buy some lights. When he arrive there, he saw that there was a lot of people who could recognize him, so he grab a hat that he used to left in his car for this situations and enter the store. Everything was okay until a little girl with big blue eyes, recognized him. She asked for a photo and Zac accepted, while looking around him to make sure no one sees that. After the photo, he felt he was being watched and when he turned around, he saw one of the most beautifull girls that ever worked with him.

- Alexandra! How are you? - he asked.

- Hey Z! I'm good, glad to see that you stay humble, even after all this years of fame.

- Oh well, you know, pretty girls are my kryptonite, especially the ones with blue eyes - he winked.

- Always sweet - she said, blushing a little and going towards him to give him a hug.

They decided to shop together and, at the end, Zac asked her:

- Hey Alex, listen... Me and Dylan... we're decorating my house for Christmas, do you want to come over and help us? I know this isn't a good plan, but maybe we could go for dinner after, what you say?

- Yeah, sure! I'd love to! But i'm not feeling well dressed to go on a date with the sexy Zac Efron! - she laughed.

- You're always wonderful... - he said, blushing a little - but, if you want, you come with me and then we go to your house so you can get dressed, if you want to.

She accepted and, after a great afternoon decorating his house, they went to Alexandra's house. While she went to her room to get dressed, he waited in the living room.He was wearing a blue smoking with a black tie and, while he's waiting, he decided to look at the photos on the wall and realized he was in one of them. All the Baywatch crew was there and that made him feel nostalgic. It's funny how life goes fast. It seems that it was yesterday that they were filming that and, after all, already passed two years. All the crew, they stayed in touch until this day and that never happened to him again since High School Musical. Dwayne, Priyanka, Kelly, Jon Bass, Ilfenesh and Alexandra, all of them stayed friends. Oh, Alexandra, he always had a crush on her since the chemistry read they did for the movie. She's the only one that makes him forget Vanessa for an instant, but they are great friends and he don't want to date her just to forget other person. She deserves better. Lost in his thoughts, Alexandra appeared in front of him. She was looking outstanding, with a yellow dress and he didn't know what to say.

- Wow... you look amazing! So, so beautifull - was all that he can say.

They went to the restaurant and had a lovely night, talking, laughing and sharing memories and, at the end of the night, he left her at her house.

- We should this more often, i think it was great - he said.

- Agree, but you have to promise that, to go with you on a dinner date like this again, i won't have to decorate your house again- she laughed. 

- I promise!

Then, they said goodbye with a hug and he left. This dinner made him feel great again, Alexandra was one of his best friends and she's so beautiful, he wishes he could love her the way he wanted to, they're both singles, they have a really great bond, but, for some reason, his heart belongs to someone else, someone else who doesn't seems to care about him.

When he got home, he saw a light on the living room. "Dylan's watching a movie and didn't waited for me" he thought. 

- Dylan, i'm gonna kill you, watching a movie again without m.... - he stopped talking when he saw a brunette sitting on his couch.

- Vanessa?!?
