Chapter 5

Austin's POV
"And my personal ain't any of your business. So please why don't you go grind on Elizabeth again" Iris yelled at me. I could sense the jealousy and hatred for Elizabeth in her voice. Which in all honesty made me the happiest man alive in this universe. But I stopped and thought 'when did she see me grinding on Elizabeth'. "A month ago" said Iris still clearly angry "shit I said that out loud?" I ask.
"Yes, yes you did" said Iris heading down the stairs I quickly followed behind her. We came down to the front door again, and their stood Xavier with his wife Anastasia. Her parents named her after the movie Anastasia. Iris and everyone hugged them, and to be honest it looked as if it was some sort of fun activity.
Duke came up to me and I could tell something was bothering him. "What's wrong" I ask him "that boy by Evelyn" said Duke and I look over to see a boy that looked similar to him. But not identically similar just in the hair and nose... and mouth.
       "What about him" I asked Duke curiously "I... I think he is my kid" said Duke. I looked at him shocked "when you two hookup" I ask "a month or three after you and Iris broke up" Duke tells me. I nod my head not wanting to remember the stupid decision I made that day. "Iris why is he here" said Xavier looking at me, Anastasia placing a hand on his shoulder to calm him. "Business" answered Iris simply with no emotion showing "you might want to get that started Iris" Joy said. Iris nodded her head "follow me" Iris spoke to Zero, who nodded his head.
We all then leave the room heading somewhere into the house. "Mom" said a voice Iris stopped looking to Katie and Michael, they have definitely gotten big. "I'll be fine" she tell them then turns back around, and keeps on walking. We all follow her as we walk down a hall I notice all the family pictures. Some of pictures when she adopted her kids, and others of trips to places. Some were just pictures of sweet moments that Iris probably wished could have lasted forever. Seeing this made me realize even more how stupid I was to leave her.
       We come to two French doors that Iris opens and inside is an office. The office was bright and modern with bookshelves filled with books. "Have a seat" said Iris gesturing to the white sofas near a fire place. We all sit as Iris watches us then sits opposite of us. "Let's begin" said Iris as Joy comes in to the room with files, a pen, and a note pad.
       "So what can you offer our company" said Zero making Iris smirk as she takes the files from Joy. Joy then sits right next to Iris, Joy smirking as well. "My company has extremely healthy and good food for your parties you have" said Iris "and as we all know the true owner" Iris then looks at me "loves to party".
       With those words I was hurt "not only that but my company is growing. And with growth comes power and with power comes the ability to take any company I'd like down" said Iris. "Though I don't know if I could do that to my old friends. But I am willing to find out" said Iris. Damn that was hot what she just said to us, and badass too. "Miss. Hall, we'd love to do business with you" said Zero, they then all look to me "yes, we'd absolutely love to Iris" I agree smiling at Iris.
"But Miss. Hall, I would like to make sure this rumor I heard is right" said Zero, I was confused what rumor about Iris. "What is the rumor Mr. Preston" asked Iris leaning back into the couch sounding annoyed. It seems if she knows what the question is, and is tired of being asked it. "Is it true you are genuinely in love with Reese Miles" Zero asked hearing the word love with another mans name in it made my blood boil.
       "No. I am not in love with" said Iris and I sighed "I am falling in love with him though" Iris added. I stood up immediately "YOU CAN'T BE FALLING IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE ELSE!" I shout with anger. "Well not all of us are into sleeping with someone for fun" said Iris with just as much anger in her voice and eyes. I walked over to her picking her up and throwing her over my shoulder. Iris was screaming now "PUT ME DOWN AUSTIN PRESTON!" "No" I said and walked out.
       I saw Lucy and Emma wide eyed "which way is Iris room" I asked. Lucy smiled "second floor third door on the right" said Lucy as Iris yelled not to tell me. "Thanks" I say as Iris is now cussing Lucy out as I walk away from them. "LOVE YOU TOO IRIS!" Lucy shouted at Iris as Iris was now threatening to kill Lucy in detail.
       I follow the what Lucy said, and when I entered Iris's room I was impressed. Her room had a bed with white sheets and pillows. Behind her bed was a gray head board. She had U shaped arch French doors that lead to a balcony. She had a fireplace with two brown sofas by it, and above the fireplace a TV. There was a sitting chair by two of the balcony U shaped French doors it had a nightstand and lamp right next to the chair too. There was one door connecting to the room besides the door to leave. I put down Iris then turn and lock her door. When I turn back around Iris smacked me with the palm of her hand; she then came back with the back of her hand. "I deserved that" I say "no you deserve worse" said Iris, I looked her over. She wore skinny dark blue jeans with a white T-shirt and a brown leather jacket over her shirt. She had on open toed black heels, and light natural makeup on. Of course when your in love with someone you notice the little things.
"Stop checking me out Austin" said Iris crossing her arms over her chest. I was trying to ignore the urge to kiss her and take her here. "I can check you out if I want to" I tell Iris as I step in her way blocking her from leaving. "Austin move" said Iris "no not until you give me a chance to explain" I say as I block her again. "Fine explain" said Iris as she walked over to her bed and sitting down.
"When we were dating and you told me. You were going to adopt Katie and Michael. I freaked out. I mean we were still kids ourselves and you wanted to take in kids. I just knew I wasn't ready for parenthood at the time. But when we broke up I took it really hard. I began to drink more and sleep with more girls. But it was to try and get you off my mind. I still do it today, because your all I can ever think about" I say.
I look to Iris to see her processing everything she was just told. "Well your kinda late now" said Iris, I looked to her hurt in my eyes, but my face shocked. "If you had did this two years ago things may be different. But I am in a relationship now with someone I am coming to love" Iris told me. "You can't love him like you loved me" I say walking over to her like a predator hunting for its prey. "Austin stop it" said Iris standing up but one I was a foot away. She took a step back only to fall on the bed behind her.
I place a hand on either side of her, Iris looking a bit shocked and terrified. I smirked leaning down to kiss her, but before I could do anything the door was kicked in. I looked to see a guy with black hair, copper skin, and brown eyes. He was wearing a maroon suit with a black button up shirt under and a maroon tie. "Reese!" said Iris happy to see him "get the hell off her" Reese said at me, he sounded pissed. But I was too this is the jackass trying to take her from me.
I stood up glaring at the guy as Iris got up, and ran to Reese jumping into his arms. He held her against him for a moment then put he down. Iris last I remembered was 5'4; Reese here gots to be 6'9 at least. She looked like a kid compared to him then again compared to me she does too.
Reese put Iris down and checked her for any bruises "I would never hit her" I say with anger. Reese looked to me glaring "I'm fine Reese" said Iris, I knew she was smiling even though all I saw was her back. Reese smiled at Iris "come on love" said Reese taking his hand in her. "See you at dinner Austin" said Iris, they then left me alone in Iris room. I knew this was going to be a challenge to get Iris back. But I am all for the challenge.
