ALURA DIDN'T KNOW FOR HOW long she had been walking, constantly stopping at stores and parties to see humans dancing and singing with no reason that she understood.
Maybe it was their war coming closer to an end. Or maybe it was their way of distracting themselves from it, like they had done at the kastala back home. Either way, she found herself surprised to see such an easily excited race, that would get overly happy for absolutely nothing.
Allura found it weird, but after the fifth party she was pulled into she began liking the environment, even being taught some 'German' by the different specie and offered the same amount of beer she had seen in her planet as hydrogen; which was one hell of a lot!
She tried the drink at least twice, the taste coming sour to her mouth until the third time that she actually found herself enjoying it quite a bit— since her body had adapted rather quickly to the weird chemicals it possessed.
She chuckled at the intoxicated people, her system perfectly clear of any of the effects the alcohol had because of her different metabolism. She had tried ammonia before back home, and that was one of the little amount of chemicals that could get her actually drunk.
But obviously, it wasn't something humans had with the flick of a wrist or the snap of a finger— at least in its natural state. So, she stuck to watch them receive the side effects while she eventually let the mundane drink and went back to taking small sips of hydrogen.
"Gal, your eyes are glowing!" A human whispered, stumbling from the liquor as he grabbed her arm, his brown eyes staring into her own as Allura's eyes became their normal green without the outline of red, the hydrogen reaching her organism.
"Yeah!" She said, pretending to be astounded as she turned him around and made him walk away, the man muttering strange things under his breath as he pretended to be a soldier.
Allura looked over to the sky when a strange warm light began covering her coat, her green eyes widening at the sight of the far away surface. It was mesmerizing! The combination of purple, orange, blue and white were reflecting in her own eyes as her mouth gaped, her eyes landing on the sun that was slowly rising.
The sun and the sky looked so beautiful on earth. It made the sky so colorful and so full of life. Back home, this would never be a sight to expect. Sure, it wasn't ugly and it certainly kept her awake at sleeping time; but this would keep her awake and bouncing up and down in enthusiasm.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" A man approached her, the strawberry blonde turning to look at him in surprise as she nodded, glancing back to the sky. "It's so stunning, the atmosphere allowing us to see this paradise." Allura frowned, her fists tightening as her suspicions raised on the guy, his questions seeming strange to make.
But then again, she had told Bucky the scientific name for water instead of its common one. Though she came from another planet, so that might be excuse enough. Allura sent him a tight smile, going to walk away but the man grabbed her arm, still looking up.
"I saw something crashing on the snow. Maybe an asteroid, or a plane from the war, I thought." He told her, shaking his head with an astounded chuckle. "But then I walked towards the scene and saw a beautiful woman stepping out of a pod, her skin glowing, desperation on her face. I was about to approach her, until she flew up into the clouds, coming back down moments after." He said, his eyes turning to her and pulling her towards him, a smirk on his old face. "Then, she blew a woman's skull with her voice."
He traced her cheek, Allura removing his hand off with her other hand and glaring at him.
"I could show you what she felt if you wish." She threatened, the man breaking into laughter as other men in black appeared, holding pathetic looking guns.
