A STRAWBERRY BLONDE WALKED ON the middle of the street. Her hair was loose and it covered her shoulders and part of her back. She was wearing a hoodie and a pair of jeans, black combat boots o her feet. Bracelets wrapped themselves around her wrists, her eyes as green as they could get as street lights illuminated them.
"So, you've experienced this sort of thing before?" Nicholas Fury spoke, his eyes looking at the Captain's as they spoke, looking at Ezekyel afterwards.
"You get used to it." The three of them turn to look at a gravestone, the one that made Fury dead to the public eye.
Next to the strawberry blonde was a man. He was wearing a red sweater and a black shirt under it, also a pair of jeans and combat boots. His hair was slightly long, covering his deep ocean eyes. He was walking at the same smooth pace the other asset was, the two determined and hopeful.
"We've been data-mining HYDRA's files. Looks like a lot of rats didn't go down with the ship. I'm headed to Europe tonight, wanted to ask if you'd come." The dark skinned man asked Steve, the man shaking his head and sending the smallest of smiles. Nick's eyes then moved to Ezekyel, the jupiterian sending a grateful nod and then shaking his head.
"There's something we gotta do first." The friends looked at each other, knowing what they had to do before they could put their attention on anything else.
"Come on, Soldat. We better make it to the boat before if leaves." Their walking became jogging, then it became running until they reached the small, old docks. Two or three people were waiting in line, their clothes indicating they didn't have much money and needed to get out of the country immediately.
The two sat together, watching their own backs and each other's back as they waited for the boat, that would take them to Europe, to arrive. Their breathing was heavy, concern and fear going through their veins as they thought about everything that could go wrong if they went back in there.
Back to HYDRA.
Back to hell.
"How about you, Wilson? Could use a man with your abilities." Nick spoke, the man shaking his head and letting out a small chuckle.
"I'm more of a soldier than a spy."
"Alright then." The three shook the man's hand in respect. "Anybody asks for me, tell them they can find me right here."
"And if we need you, man?" Ezekyel asked, looking proudly and teasingly at the man he had taken care of when he was eighteen and a rebellious teenager. Seeing him so grown up made him realize how fast time really went by in Earth.
"Come on, Ezekyel. I've known you my whole life." He stopped, a sense of nostalgia hitting him as Sam and Steve stared at them weirdly. "You need me, you call." The two shared a small hug, Fury walking away shortly afterwards.
