You struggle to keep up with the German shepard and husky paving the way for you. As if your Friday plans being cancelled wasn't enough, your lousy old neighbor, Mrs. Bradford, asked you to walk her two precious pups for the day while she was out having some "real fun" at Bingo night. Of course, you couldn't say no, she was a family friend, and it'd accidentally slipped out that you had no other plans. Now, you're stuck with two dogs almost larger than you were, dirt being kicked up at your new dress, and sweat threatening at you as the sun beat you down.

The park was almost vacant today, unusually. Usually, it was bustling with young couples and children toddling around, picking the wildflowers. Now, it felt like it was just you and the dogs. It was summertime, so maybe everyone else had actual plans.

Cherry blosson trees lined the path, fragrant and blossoming fully, leaving wispy piles of petals in your way. The dogs stopped and yapped obnoxiously, kicking and chewing at the petals. You huffed and looked down at the small gold watch hugging your wrist. The sun was beggining to set, and the sky was the only thing looking more tired than you were. The dogs were full of life, much to your dismay.

You sat on a bench for a while, watching birds pass overhead and listening to children somwhere in the distance bicker over a game of soccer.

All of a sudden, a dog dashed out from the corner, running full speed towards you. Mrs. Bradford's dogs had stopped playing and now had their ears perked up.

The dog was a whole other story.

It was dyed pink, like a blob of cotton candy. It stopped at your feet, staring up at you with glossy eyes. You smiled, reaching down and petting it. "Hi," you whispered. "Who do you belong to?"

A question that seemed to answer itself. A boy came running after, face flushed and clutching a jeweled collar. Your heart fluttered. He was gorgeous, easily a heartthrob. He was tall and lean, a bit muscular, but not overly. He was Asian, with perfectly styled ebony hair, porcelain skin, and deep, dark eyes.

He spotted you instantly, smiling gratefully as he approached you. "H-hi! I'm so, so sor-" He stopped and blushed, running his fingers through his dark hair. "Oh... uh... h-hi..." he repeated awkwardly. "I'm Will. I'm also sorry about the dog... h-he's not mine, so..."

You giggle, tucking away a strand of your brown hair. "It's no problem, really. She's sweet, and adorable."

His cheeks were blazing now. "Yeah, like you," he muttered.

Your face heated up. "T-thanks... I mean... you are too. Cute, I mean. You."

He laughed. "Thanks." He attached the leash to the dog. "I never got your name?"

You smile, standing up. "Amanda." Moitioning towards Mrs. Bradford's dogs, you blush. "We already have a lot in common, I guess. Those aren't my dogs either, I just had no plans tonight..."

By the time you looked back at Will, he was blushing and holding out a piece of paper, with a number scrawled on it.

"If you want, I can make sure that you'll have plans next Friday."
