The mall was packed, and, surprisingly, you didn't lose Dana in the crowd as he bounded to Foot Locker. Today was the release of a new pair of Jordan 14s. Normally, 5s and 1s were more fitting to your style, but these were to die for. You both didn't just want them, you needed them.

By the time you'd caught up to Dana, he was in a line, seemingly never-ending, pouting.

"Baabyyyy," he whined. "We got here too late."

You force a small smile through your disappointment. "It's a huge release, babe," you reassure. "They probably have a ton of 'em."

He was quiet, crossing his arms and staring at the enterance as the line moved up slowly. You could see the hope fading from his eyes as more and more customers poured out, clutching their bags like they were holding newborn babies.

You always thought it was cute, how important sneakers were to Dana. His collection was endless, but you knew how important this pair was. He's even bragged all day to the other boys about finally getting them. You had always preffered sneakers too, and Dana liked it that you weren't a girly-girl who only wore heels. Nobody had time for that.

When three people were ahead of you, Dana was nearly fuming. He kicked at the ground with a old pair of Vlados. "Why is this taking soooo long?" he whined. "I just... need them"

You wrap your arms around his torso, and he squeezes you firmly. "How much do you need them?" you mumble, a hint of amusement salted into your tone.

"A lot," he groaned. "A lot, a lot."

You stayed like that for a while, breathing in the faint smell of cologne on his shirt as you waited.

Sudden;y, he jerked away excitedly, escaping into the store. Since only a number of people were allowed in at a time, he had to go without you. You tapped your feet, waiting for about ten minutes. You were getting aggravated, anxious.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, Dana emerged, grinning, but with a tinge of disappoinment in his eyes. He removed a bag from his back.

You smiled. "Yay! You got them!"

Dana blushed and kicked at the ground. "S-sort of..."

He removed the box and held it out to me. Your hands shook as you removed the lid. They were even more beautiful in person. The color, the style...

... the size.

You stop and look up at him. "Babe," you laugh nervously. "I think you got the wrong size."

He shrugged casually. "They didn't have my size left... and I know you didn't talk about it that much, but I knew how much you wanted them. And what's the one thing that I love more than sneakers? More than anything else in the world?"

You grin, leaning up and planting a quick kiss on his lips.

"I love you too, baby. Thank you!"
