Because I cannot fathom
how brave you have to be to say you do
To pour your heart out to someone
I understand the anxieties
that entrail your every word
Knowing exactly the nerves
that buzz around your heart
Perhaps if my smile is soft
and lips a blossom shade
And my eyes glow
like an evening shimmer
You will not see that I only
Love you
Because you love me.
I know the first heart break
when they don't know the way
you feel
I know what it feels to have your heart crushed
And oh boy do I know.
What it feels to love someone who
doesn't love you
