Chapter 1 ~ The beginning

       

"Come on Kate just create it, it will be fun" Says Sarah elbowing me hard in the arm

"Yeah come on we all did" says Susie

"Listen, Jack probably does this shit too lets just have some fun, we are all single and young" Says Sarah

"Okay okay I will, I swear you only find creeps on here but whatever AND Yes Jack goes online, again I hate it but thats what this generation has come too AND since when am I single?"

"I thought you like creeps?" Susie says and winks at me

"I do but I don't know this feels weird"

"Ugghh come on"

I create my online dating account but I don't add a picture, I don't feel comfortable having a photo up of myself for everyone to see. We all spend a few hours talking to our matches online, I have no interest in any of them but its kills some time and boredom. Eventually its time for the cheeky girls to go home. We say our goodbyes and they are off and I get dressed into my pyjamas for the night. My white silky set looks very appealing to me, I slip my shorts on then my shirt. I check my phone and I have a match with this guy named "Markimark" Ha what a name, he starts messaging

'Well hello mysterious girl' I smile at the screen

'And a hello to you, I don't see your profile picture up either'

'Its because I don't like having it up'

'Same as me'

'Well we are off to a good start, something in common, just gonna let you know I'm not here for relationships I am here just for fun and not to be judged'

'I can say the same thing back to you'

'So Markimark let me get to know you, tell me a few things about yourself since I cant see anything on here'

'Will do Katie_1' 'I am 49 years old, married, I work in Real Estate, been here since the age of 22, from America and I have a son. Now you'

'Well I'm 20 years old, manager at a cafe, in a relationship and Australian'

'Oh wow a very young girl, I have visited Australia many times, very nice!'

'Whatever's on the radio really but I do like my country'

'Thats good too' 'So how long have you been together, referring to you and your boyfriend?'

'About 6 months....'

'How did you meet?'

'You want to know?'

'Yeah...I'd like to know lol'

'Ummm okay...I was driving one of my friends home and my car broke down, I checked everything and it seemed fine so I don't know what happen...I called my insurance company to get a guy out then there he was, he came and started up the car, we talked for a while and he gave me his number. He said to tell him how my car goes, I texted him a few days later then we started talking...'

'Aww thats cute'

'You and your wife?'

'I first met her when she came into my agency to find a home, I was 24 and she was 20, she wanted to move out of home. Long story short we hit it off instantly then got married a year later'

'Awww thats so cute'.

We started talking even more and get to know each other really well. I check the time and its 1 am. Fuck I have to get up for work soon!

'I don't mean to be rude but I better go to sleep, very late here, take care'

'Nighty night Katie?'

'Its Kate, sorry I didn't introduce myself'

'Mines Mark, nice to meet you (Virtually shakes your hand)'

'Go to bed now lol'

'Well okay then lol'.

I close off the app then put my phone down on the bedside table. I have a smile on my face, this was fun. I pull my covers over me and get comfy in my bed, it doesn't take me long to fall asleep.
