So Arron was blind as a fucking bat.

It suddenly made sense why Arron didn't really apply personal space to people she trusted and liked. She needed to lean closer to see them at all, and even then the image she saw was reportedly pretty blurry. The look on the girl's face when the doctor flipped the lenses was so amusing even Trexx had to laugh. Her being afraid of every little thing that moved wasn't so irrational anymore. She could never tell what it was. It could be a person or a shadow, and she'd barely be able to tell.

They picked out some frames, and the doctor promised Arron would have her glasses in a week or so. Ino was excited! Her friend was finally going to see the world, and Shikamaru, clearly.

"Does this mean you see Trexx as a big black blob?" Ino recalled asking.

"With arms." Arron had answered.

Ino wasn't sure Arron had mentioned the glasses thing to Shikamaru, but that was alright. It could be a surprise or something. Ino had insured Arron got adorable frames. It's not like the dark-haired girl could see them on herself anyway.

The days rolled by with Arron and Ino running around Konoha doing miscellaneous things. Coldwell had vanished, but Ino had a feeling he only disappeared when he knew they were nearby. She had no problems with it. Arron sassed Inoichi, talked to Asuma some, and even risked trailing after Ino into the Akimichi compound to say hello to the chubby boy. Trexx went on a small rant about killing the sun.

It was becoming painfully obvious to Shikaku and Yoshino Nara that their son was, indeed, in love. That had been obvious before but... It was reaching an extreme level. It was like Arron and Shikamaru had flipped. Shikamaru was mopey and sluggish during training, and all he really talked about with Arron. Meanwhile, the girl had no issues spending the day running around hiring gay men to do her bidding with her supposed millions.

Both were incredibly clingy when together, but the two Nara clan heads could clearly see that their son was becoming the one who was worse about it. During dinner, he'd push his chair right up against hers. He wanted to have physical contact with her as much as he possibly could. It was bordering on creepy, but it was also kind of sweet. Possibly a little sad, too. Arron didn't seem to mind, so they didn't try to stop their smitten son's behavior. Arron clung to him nearly just as much anyway.

Though they would have to discuss sleeping arrangements.

"The final part is in just a couple days." Shikamaru said lowly. It was dark out now, and he and Arron were lying side by side on his bed. He'd quickly adjusted to her wish to sleep in his bed every night. He could even say he looked forward to it. There was just something about the way Arron's dark locks blended in with the dimness of the room. The way the shadows curved at her jawline and the bridge of her nose.

"'ou vill... Ah, ennill. Obtain." Arron muttered. Shikamaru watched with a warm fondness as her eyebrows furrowed with though, her nose crinkling. He waited, his smile widening when he saw it click. Her eyes lit up, and she smiled a little. "Win. 'ou vill win."

"Maybe." Shikamaru sighed heavily. He hesitated. "Are... You going to go?"

Arron nodded, but she did appear nervous. "Ino and Choji vill come." She said quietly, tracing circles on his chest idly. Shikamaru hummed a little in acknowledge, tucking some of Arron's hair behind her ear.

"You don't have to if you're uncomfortable, you know. You can stay here with my mom." Shikamaru assured her.

"I wanna see 'ou fight." She mumbled, and he found himself grinning, and vaguely wondering how he got so lucky.

Arron dreams of the same man again. The one with the vibrant purple eyes. He's clearer this time, and she almost thinks she sees a face. She holds a conversation with him this time around. He asks how she is, and assures her that he's closer than she thinks. She doesn't know what that means, but she doesn't feel it's a bad thing. She doesn't feel scared. In fact, she feels almost... Almost warm, in a sense.

"You're quite sassy, you know that?" The man's voice echoed.

"I know." Arron had responded, earning a chuckle. She felt a warm hand ruffle her hair. She couldn't see who it belonged to, but she didn't mind. It was a... Nice feeling. She felt herself relax a little. It was dark, and the space she sat in was small, but she didn't feel necessarily trapped.

"So, this Shikamaru boy." The man sounded amused. "You love him, right?"

"Ie." Arron nodded, frowning. "But I am... Broken."

"No, you're not." She felt the hand in her head again. "You're just fine, Arron. Just fine."

The next morning she once again implies that they should get dressed together, to which Shikamaru turns red and says no. She can't actually see his flush from where she's standing, but she certainly hears it in his voice. She finds his embarrassment extremely amusing.

"Arron, are you ready to go?" Ino asked. The dark-haired girl was draped over Shikamaru's lap tiredly, her head rested on her arms as Shikamaru ran his hand up and down her back. It was a cute sight. Ino just wanted them to get together already. Seriously, they were pushing their luck. Someone else would sweep Arron off her feet at this rate. Ino almost wanted to find someone to do it just to spook Shikamaru into getting his ass in gear.

"Okay." Arron grumbled, rolling off Shikamaru. Trexx lifted her up with ease. The Nara boy sighed, gazing after Arron as Noot rhythmically rammed himself into his leg. Mothball sat on the couch in a bored manner.

"I'll see you later, Arron." Shikamaru smiled. She smiled back and nodded, and with that she was gone. Literally. She and Ino took off dead sprint like their lives depended on it, Trexx racing after them clumsily. Shikamaru watched them go with a small frown, wondering just where they were going.
