NO ONE CAN QUITE EXPLAIN the phenomenon when people lock eyes and a connection is made. It's a thing that doesn't happen often. But when it does the connection is unbreakable from that day forth.
I never believed in it.
It's hard to believe in something like soulmates when you grow up unwanted. Being abandoned by my parents when I was an infant and knowing nothing but the inside of an orphanage and the occasional foster parent.
Until they came in.
A family of three. A single mother and her two sons. She was looking to add someone to the family. I never expected to be adopted.
One look at me and most people don't want anything to do with me. Albinos tend to deter people away as well as my selective mutism. Everyone wanted the perfect child or the baby to raise in the image they want.
Not the broken ones. At least that's what I thought.
When I locked eyes with the youngest was when it happened. He was around my age. With brown skin, deep brown eyes, and jet-black hair. He caught my attention. He had a beautiful smile he directed at me before pulling on the sleeve of his mom.
His name was Makya and he became the reason I was adopted.
We became inseparable a year later. Wherever he was I would be. I trailed him like a lost puppy dog taking comfort in his presence and him not forcing me to want to talk unless I could.
But our friendship was bound to become something more at one point.
No one thought it would be set off in such a big chain of events though.
270. And here I start Phases but as an original story! I feel like Makya and Petal deserve to be my characters living in MY world. Something I created with my rules. I tagged it with inspiration from Twilight though. Hope you guys enjoy! ***
