emma's pov.
"I'm sorry, for the late stop, but I have to be heading out now. I have another meeting." James explains giving me a hug.
"It's ok, I'm just happy you stopped by." I say before he leaves.
I hear a knock on the door before Grayson walks in. "Hey."
"Hey." I smile back. He stuffed his hands in his front pockets of his jeans. He awkwardly walked closer the bed, sitting at the edge.
"Don't tell anybody this. But that nurse was hot." He smiled. I laughed, shaking my head at his stupidity.
"No, really. I even asked for her number, but she rejected me." He laughed.
"You're so stupid Grayson." I laughed.
We both sat there, smiling like two idiots.
"I missed this. Us. Being friends." He says.
"Me too. It's sad that Ethan and Is relationship ruined ours." I admitted.
"So, you wanna explain what the hell happened between you two? Because Ethan refuses.." He sighs.
"Grayson, I don't know..."
"Please, Emma. He won't tell me. Can you atleast tell me. Give me an idea?" He pleads.
I sigh, looking down at my hands, playing with them.
"Alright fine." I finally give in. He smiles and holds my hand in reassurance, making sure to listen.
"It happened after that fight that happened at your house. I got mad and left and went to Philz to get coffee. Then somehow my hometown friend Derek showed up, and sat at a table with me. He told me he has feelings for me and kissed me but I pushed him off." I look back up at Grayson to make sure he's still listening. His eyes are wide, but he's still holding my hand.
"So Ethan found out?" He asked.
"He was there. He saw Derek kiss me. But I guess he didn't see the part where I didn't kiss back." I think back to that moment. And how selfish Ethan was.
"I'm so sorry, Emma. You do not deserve this. Why didn't you ever tell me? I could've been there for you. Or you could've let me talk to Ethan."
"No, Grayson. It's ok. I was fine. I am fine." I tell him.
"Why don't you tell him what happened? I could tell him?" He asks.
"No, it's ok. I don't want to tell him and I sure as hell don't want anyone else telling him either."
"Why? He doesn't know the truth. You could fix this, Emma. You guys could get back together!" He exclaims.
"Grayson, no."
His eyes loose the hope they just had a few seconds ago, and his shoulders slump down again.
"He didn't let me explain then. That's not my fault. He doesn't deserve the truth. He doesn't deserve me running back to him. He doesn't deserve ME." I explain.
"So you don't like him anymore?" He runs his hand through his hair.
"I do. Of course I d. I never stopped. I like him. But I cant be with him."
