Michelle threw herself on Peters bed. "I can't believe that" Michelle mumbled while rolling her eyes. "I know,"  Peter said sitting on the end of his bed where her feet are. Peter started rubbing his eyes in frustration, and Michelle could see how upset he was. Michelle slowly grabbed his hands and pull them away from his face so he could look at her. "I  believe you can beat him, Pete, if anyone can its Spiderman. And if it's getting to be too much there is always other people who can do it". peter gave her a little smile as he stood up. " I know but what am I suppose to do, how can I stop something if I don't understand, I barely can comprehend what its powers even do. All I know is this dude is really strong". Michelle frowned knowing her best friend was scared.  "You are really strong too" she sighed.

"We can beat him" Michelle states as she stands up, to be beside Peter. " I mean come on, we have Ned" she laughed out, "I bet you five bucks he doesn't have a Ned". Peter smiled at this. "Yeah that's true" He muttered. "Speaking of Ned, where is he?" Michelle asked. Peter walked over to his computer chair and sat down. "Ned didn't tell you? He went to go ask Betty out to homecoming". Michelle shrugged her shoulders and sighed as she picked up her book. "Oh yes the one day of the year where girls spend hundreds of dollars on makeup and dresses, and oh can't forget about the hair" Michelle sarcastically said. Peter laughed at Michelle once again. Peter watched Michelle as she read her book, remembering why he loved the sarcastic girl in front of him.

"You really hate homecoming don't you" Peter laughed. Michelle stopped read and focused all her attention on the boy in front of her. "Yes Peter, yes I do," She said with confidence. "So you wouldn't want to go? "Peter asked. "Not in a million years. It's just another way for companies to make money "Michelle hissed. Not at Peter of course, but more pointed towards the subject called a homecoming. "You wouldn't even go with me?" Peter asked. Michelle rolled her eyes "Homecoming is just- wait what" Michelle asked confused. "MJ will you go to homecoming with me," Peter asked Michelle nervously. Peter couldn't remember the last time he felt this nervous around Michelle. Everything that happened between them always seemed normal, kind of natural.   But the fear of her rejecting him was starting to sink in.
Michelle just stared at Peter. It was silent for a moment before Michelle started laughing. "Oh no, I think I broke you" Peter mumbled. Which only made Michelle laugh more. Peter began to laugh with her. He's honestly never seen Michelle laugh this much in his life and even at this moment, even if she rejected him, he couldn't even be upset. He got to see Michelle not only smile but full on laugh, and that made Peter happy.
The laughter finally died down. "Peter, of course, I will go to homecoming with you. Who else would I go with loser?" Michelle said smiling at Peter. Peter put his hand on his chin, pretending to think. "hmm maybe Flash, he has a crush on you" Peter said. Peter quickly dodged the pillow that Michelle threw at him. "Whatever" she replied with a grin, "in his dreams".

"She said yes," Ned said excitingly as he ran into Peters room. " Dude that's amazing," Peter said as they did their little handshake. "I knew she would," Michelle said looking up from her book. Michelle had already taken matters into her own hands two weeks ago from when she noticed the two would stare at each other. She then shortly after went to go talk to Betty and that's when she told Michelle that she liked Ned. "Yeah Thanks, Michelle. hey, dude now we need to go find you a date" Ned said to Peter as he sat down and got out his laptop. Peter and Michelle quickly glanced at each other. Totally forgetting to tell Ned about what happened between the two. Peter slowly shook his head to show Michelle that right now was not the best time to tell Ned. He didn't want this moment about them. He wanted this moment to be about Ned, its the least he can do for his best friend. And Ned never seems to get much moments to himself Peter thought. He also was scared that Ned would be mad at his two best friends. Or if he would feel awkward, or something. Peter was nervous, to say the least.

"I knew you were going to say that dude" Ned exclaimed, "so I took matters into my own hands and asked Gwen if she would go with you". "What!" Peter and Michelle yelled. "Wow you guys must be really excited," Ned said smiling. Happy that he could help his friend out. "Ha yeah, we are" Michelle replied as she set her book down, "not that its important for ME to know. But what did she say when you asked her about Peter?". Ned began to smile even more if that was even possible. "That's the best part she said yes" Ned exclaimed even more excited. Michelle frowned knowing what had to happen. "That's great Ned. And I'm really happy for you Peter" Michelle lied. She began to grab her things, "I have to go now, I'll see you losers tomorrow". Peter stood up as Michelle opened his door. she turned around to meet him, and their eyes met one last time. "Your really lucky Peter, she's really pretty". And with that, she made her way out of his apartment.

She feels her heart crush at each step she took. Did she really think they could work? How stupid could she be? Of course, Peter would go to homecoming with a girl like Gwen, not a girl like Michelle. "Michelle waits" she could hear Peter yelling. She turned around to tell him to go back inside. But before she could say anything Peter places his lips on hers. It was only about ten seconds, but it felt like forever, before their lips parted from each other. "Michelle, I don't want to go to homecoming with her! I only want to go with you" Peter mumbled as he rubbed his thumb across her cheek. She smiled, "I would hope so since you just kissed me".
