"It's almost homecoming, have you picked out your outfit yet," Ned asked me, as he sat down beside me. I gave him one good look and slammed my book closed. "I'm taking that as a no" Ned said grabbing a grape from his trey. "I haven't really given it a thought," I said honestly.i looked around the lunchroom noticing that there was an absence of Peters presence. "I think I'm skipping this year," I said, stealing a grape from his trey. "Why," Ned asked. " too much money" I lied, "I'm pretty sure clothing and makeup companies made this thing up for money. Plus I don't feel like putting on a dress".
The truth was I didn't want to go see Qwen and Peter dance around like two lovesick fools. I'm mean who else would he ask. It's gross, how happy they could make each other. And there's nothing I can do, they both deserve each other. I wish I could hate her, but she's too nice.
"So you'll have to find a new date this year" I deadpanned. This earned a laugh from Ned. "No worries I'm going with Betty," Ned said happily. "I'm so offended," I said jokingly rolling my eyes."You could hang out with Peter still, and me and Betty of course"."As much as I love third wheeling, Hell no" I said stealing another grape from him.
"Hey guys," Qwen said cheerfully greeting us."Hey" Ned and I replied back. I quickly noticed that Peter wasn't with her. "I thought Peter was with you," Ned asked before I could. "No he had something to do," she said, " he was acting really strange". Ned and looked at each other knowing exactly what he went to do. "when isn't the loser acting strange" I deadpanned.
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late," Peter said sitting down beside Qwen. "When aren't you late," I said looking at him. Peter quickly laughed at the "yeah that's the truth" He said agreeing with me. "So what are you doing for homecoming, " Ned asked Qwen. "Um I don't know, I really don't know many people at this school". "You should come with us, we three went to homecoming last year," Peter said, assuring her to come. I rolled my eyes at this, of course, he wants her to go.
"Dude she didn't tell you," Ned said, "Mj isn't coming this year". I quickly kicked Ned under the table for telling him that. "You're not going this year" Peter questioned. "Well I haven't completely decided yet," I said glaring at Ned, "but most likely yes".
I noticed that Peter had dirt on his nose. "Here," I said wiping the dirt off his nose. All three of them looked at me with wide eyes, it almost made me want to laugh. "He had dirt on his face" I explained "he already looks like a loser, I didn't want him to look like more of one". Ned and Qwen shook their heads in an understanding manner. I still felt Peters gaze on me, "Next time I leave the dirt on your nose" I said turning to face him. "You know you won't" Peter laughed out

"Any luck finding him," I asked Peter while studying on his floor. "Nothing, it's like this guy doesn't exist" Peter mumbled while typing his paper. "we'll find him," I said getting up, and sitting beside him. Peter turned to face me, we were almost inches apart. "You should really come to homecoming," he said. He honestly made me feel wheezy, I could feel his hot breath on my face. "Nah I think I'm gonna stay home, and read" I Stated. "You don't want to go with me and Ned" he pouted. "You two can take Qwen" I deadpanned.
I could tell by his face that he didn't think it was funny. "It was a joke" I explained. "Is that why you're not going?" he asked, "because of Qwen". I didn't say anything, it's not like I was gonna lie to him. I already kept so much from him.
"Do you hate her or something" he questioned. "No" I mumbled moving away from him. I moved swiftly back to my spot on the floor. But I couldn't get away from him not this time. And climbed to the floor with me. "Michelle, just talk to me" he pleaded, "i'll do anything". "What do you want me to say Peter". "For some reason you don't talk to me anymore, I'm mean t like we use too" he said. "Peter there is nothing to say" I mumbled, looking into his eyes. And for some reason i knew I wasn't escaping this one.
