Some of my favorite literature/movies on all things alternate history, creepy, and Dyatlov Pass Incident. Pretty much all of these had a hand in inspiring "The Pass"

1. "Dead Mountain", by Donnie Eichar

If you're interested in reading something about the Dyatlov Pass Incident that isn't fiction, then this is the book for you

If you're interested in reading something about the Dyatlov Pass Incident that isn't fiction, then this is the book for you. This is the product of some really impressive research on the part of Donnie Eichar. It's very easy to read, and very accessible. He also explains everything in a way that makes sense without sounding patronizing. A must read that goes through the theories of what happened and a little more into the world that the hikers lived in.

2. "Leviathan", by Scott Westerfield

This was my first dieselpunk story, and it also has some biopunk for those of you that like that

This was my first dieselpunk story, and it also has some biopunk for those of you that like that. It was also the first alternate history I'd ever read, so you should definitely check it out.

3. "Wolf By Wolf", by Ryan Graudin

Another alternate history science fiction that's based a little closer to this story

Another alternate history science fiction that's based a little closer to this story. Definitely check it out if you like interesting, original fiction.

4. "The Summit" (2012)

This was the first mountaineering movie that I saw, and honestly, I didn't really know what it was about when I started watching it: I just decided to watch it to get a sense of Nika. But, it was really cool, pun intended.

5. "Into Thin Air" (1997)

This movie's in the same line of "The Summit", in that it's about disasters on mountains. As an added plus, it's available in its fullness for free on youtube.
