Adrenaline pumped from my heart causing a light-hearted bounce in my step as I walked to the pick-up area of the airport. A month in Canada wasn't enough, it passed by like a regular school week - in a blur. In a way, that's what it felt like. However, I didn't dwell too long on the fact that I could only see and cherish my family and friends for a limited time because at least I had the chance to visit them.

I was glad to be back in Aldrose, in a week we'd be starting college. My friends and I were getting riled up all summer about the courses we'd take and clubs we'd join. We were like people with dreams talking about walking around campus with our backpacks on while carrying Level 3 (basically the same level of difficulty as an AP class) classes' textbooks. We'd wonder what it'd be like to stay up late at night with or video chat with friends to finish a class' homework/study for an upcoming test. As stressful as the latter may sound, there's a sense of relief somewhere hidden in the back of our minds that we're not the only one missing out. Excitement and rush about being awake passed the "normal" bedtime. I and my friends were able to get into Bluehollow University. The most prestigious college in Aldrose. It was deemed as a school for the "smarter" lot of students. The standard of Bluehollow usually compiled heaping amounts of criticism and hate, but that didn't stop it from the being in the top three ranking colleges/universities in the city.

As I pushed passed a mass of people, I tried to search for a familiar "blonde." It only took me a couple of minutes to do so for I could spot his snow-white hair and lean figure from a mile away.

"New!" I called out like an excited child upon seeing their parent for the first time in a while. He turned around at the sound of my voice and a huge smile broke out on his face. I carefully let go of my suitcase's handle as we embraced in a tight hug.

Once we stepped away, he asked me, "Hey, how are you?"

The smile never left his face, resulting in me grinning even wider.

"I'm good, you?" I replied as we steadily began walking, New ever so kindly pulling my suitcase for me.

"Alright, it feels like I haven't seen you in ages," he remarked. New was always the loud and extroverted friend in our little circle, he was never afraid to voice how he felt regardless who was around or what he said. At times, I wished I possessed the trait.

"For real? It feels like I just saw you yesterday," I argued. He huffed and rolled his eyes in response. Once we reached the parking lot, we put my luggage in the back seat of his car and after much begging, New agreed to drive me to the dorms.

"Where's Q?" I inquired, looking over at him, curiosity knitting my brows together.

"Oh," he started and giggled before continuing. That was never a good sign when it came to New. "I made him stay back at the dorm to unpack the remaining boxes and make our beds." He stopped at a red light and turned to me with a taunt, teeth-revealing grin.

"You're so mean!" I exclaimed. He flicked a hand in disapproval as he proceeded to drive.

"Besides, it's not like he's missing out on anything important," he reasoned, pressing his lips into a thin line in order to stifle a laugh.

"Hey!" I yelled, faking offense as best as I could. New threw his head back in laughter, pleased with his ability to anger me in the span of only a couple of minutes upon my arrival.

The dorm rooms for Bluehollow University were basically two bedroom apartments. When you first enter, you walk in the middle of the split kitchen. There are counters on either side, each with its own stove, oven, and dishwasher. From what they told me, the left side has the fridge and the right contains a full height fridge freezer. Both have a counter that serves as a breakfast area. You travel further into the large living room and on either side, there is another hallway. Both hallways hold a bedroom with its own bathroom, closet, and separate storage area. The right hallway has a laundry room which is the only difference.
