"All students on campus please report to the study hall. Again, all students on campus please report to the study hall," a lady on the loudspeaker instructed. They had sent out an email saying the exact same thing with an elaboration on how we'd be receiving our locker numbers/combinations and a hard copy of our schedules.
Bluehollow University was colossal. It wasn't just one boring, closed off building. There were multiple courtyards all over the school, making it a lot more spaced out than most colleges or universities in the area. The large, intricate golden gates opened up to a long bricked pathway which leads to the lobby. On each side of the pathway was a parking lot for faculty only. The students had their own private one towards the back of the school. The lobby had a high ceiling with a delicate chandelier placed perfectly in the middle. In the center was a circular waiting area with a two-step staircase and tall pillars guarding the round edge. To the left and right were hallways that consisted of counselors' offices and meeting rooms. A corridor straight ahead directed towards one of the infinite courtyards. Since the school was so large, they had to place signs in order to indicate which room was where.
The three of us followed the sign pointing rightward to the study hall, library, and I.T. classes. As we walked the halls, we couldn't help but stare in awe and wonder at how rich everything looked and felt. The staircases twisted and turned, the tiled floor was pearly white, the walls were painted smooth to the touch. The classrooms were gigantic with desks in symmetrical rows of two and tall, arched windows that overlooked the garden which was vibrant with various flowers and plants of greens, purples, and blues. The cafeteria was humongous with mahogany flooring, roundtables and round back upholstered chairs scattered neatly about (we got curious and had to poke our heads in).
The study hall was the size of an auditorium since the school had a number of sixty thousand students. It was set up like an elegant and posh dining hall and I say that as a good thing. The windows that lined the walls were bordered with ebony. Warm yellow lighting illuminated the room, casting dancing shadows on the ground. The floor was chestnut, tables arranged orderly with enough walking space in between. In one corner of the room was a grand teacher's desk, brushed ivory with a mahogany top. In another corner was a small orchestra that played soft violin music. I was glad there was something else besides New and Q that calmed my stomach from doing back-flips.
The teacher, an elderly lady who appeared young for her unspoken age, stood with her back cracked straight and donned a very professional navy blue suit jacket and skirt, clicked her way to the center of the room. She ordered everyone to take a seat before returning to her own and immediately began calling out students in chronological order.
New leaned in over the table and whispered harshly, "I feel like a spoiled, rich kid."
"Same here," I replied, making sure to uphold the same volume as to not disturb the teacher. Maybe this school really was for the "smart" kids.

After claiming our combinations and schedules, the three of us walked to the main building of Bluehollow University. It towered above us being four stories high, each story for the corresponding college year. We were on the first as we were mere freshmen.
The main building had classes mainly dedicated to the arts and business careers as Aldrose valued those the most, so we would be sticking around here more often. As we entered, a gush of cool wind hit our faces and we childishly oohed and aahed at the massive vestibule. The lockers were full length that were pleasing to the eye with a light salmon color. The sophisticated chandeliers overhead glittered the marble floor with its mellow lighting.
I hopped in excitement as I clutched the papers to my chest, New and Q chuckling at my reaction. Once we got the hang of our lockers, the three of us had to part ways as New and I had the second period together. We waved Q goodbye before climbing up the ligneous staircase.
