Jamie walked home like any other day when she bumped into Chan. He's dressed all white. With his dyed blonde hair, he looked like an angel. He also saw her and smiled, waving at her. His smile is so sweet. Those dimples made it the sweetest smile Jamie's ever seen.
She was about to talk to him when two of his friends came to him. The three of them all looked so happy.
Unlike him, the two of them were dressed all black. "It's nice to see you Jamie." Chan greeted before following his friends who's already walking ahead of him. Jamie was curious where they're going but judging by their outfits and the time, this can't be anything that would benefit her.
For a moment there Chan almost fooled her. On that split second, he almost made her believe that he's happy. His eyes were empty though.
Jamie continued to walk without direction. It was beneficial for people who has a lot on their mind. Just walking around with thoughts in your head. At least out here, she can't just hurt herself. Outside, there are people she can ask for help. Unlike inside her room, she can just stop everything without anyone knowing.
She found herself staring at the vintage store when her thoughts cleared up and she was back in reality. She stared at the counter with Jae sitting on the tabletop. With his height, the table was perfect to be his chair.
He has his electric guitar on his lap, but he wasn't playing it. He was just staring into blank before he smiled.
He's got to be out of his mind. He was laughing to himself when he noticed Jamie staring at him from the outside. He then rushed outside to see her. She's still on her uniform.
"Here to listen to Maroon 5?" He asked Jamie, still holding his guitar. He now look like he belongs somewhere, now that he's holding a guitar.
Before, he just look like a tall handsome person who likes music. Seeing him like this just makes sense.
"Are you ready to sell it?" Jamie asked but Jae only shook his head.
"You can just visit here every day." He tried to convince her once again. She glanced at the inside of the store and sighed. He's saying it so somebody would visit the store. It looks like nobody's interested on cassette tapes anymore.
Jae glanced at the time and it's already 9PM. He has to close the store. "Wait a second." He told Jamie before he placed his guitar inside and closed the lights. He locked the store and joined Jamie shortly.
"I know you haven't eaten yet. I know a very nice place." He said and dragged her with him. Jamie didn't argue. She liked that someone would hang out with her. Plus, she has this creepy crush on him anyways ever since that Maroon 5 incident.
Now Jamie knew that she can't just accept this invitation. For one, they're completely stranger besides their encounter at school and at the retro shop. Jae might be a cold blooded criminal or might be a black market supplier for all she knows.
But of course, those things were pushed at the back of her mind just because he looks like he won't hurt a fly. He looks like Chicken little for Christ's sake.
Jamie nodded, agreeing to make dinner plan with him. Jae led her into this three story staircase made out of rock. Whatever this 'very-nice-place' he's talking about, they better serve food that would make you feel like heaven. The way to them is like a stairway to heaven.
Is he doing it to help her lose weight?
When they reached the top, it took a short walk before Jae escorted her inside this humble ramyeon house. An old couple smiled upon seeing Jae enter. "Welcome son." The old man welcomed him.
