Alfred wrapped his arms around Arthur. "It's okay. It is over now and there is nothing to worry about, because I am here to protect you." He said in a comforting tone. He hummed a relaxing tune and continued to hug the Brit, trying to keep him calm.

Arthur had just realized he was shaking in fear. He couldn't get the image of the poor woman out of his head. His heartbeat somehow became faster the more he thought about it. "I-I.... I can't..." Arthur was gasping for air. He began hyperventilating. He looked up into Alfred's eyes and pleaded for help. Fear had overtaken Arthur and he didn't know how to break free from its grasp.

Alfred hesitated and hoped that Arthur wouldn't slap him for this. He quickly pressed his lips against Arthur's hopping that it would help.

Arthur's eyes widened at the sudden action. He wanted to pull away but a part of him said not to. His heart was racing and he could feel his face becoming hotter. After a few seconds, he closed his eyes and focused on the kiss. All of the images of his nightmare slowly faded away. He realized he had stopped shaking and his arms were wrapped around Alfred's neck.

Alfred snaked his arms around Arthur's waist, deepening the kiss. He couldn't believe that Arthur was actually kissing back. He thought for sure that the Brit would pull away and yell at him. He didn't care about that now though.

Arthur ran his hand through Alfred's hair as he continued to kiss the American. Everything that had happened in the past week didn't matter. All Arthur cared about was this moment. Wait.... What am i doing? Arthur suddenly came to realization of what was happening. He quickly pulled away from Alfred and could feel himself blushing.

Alfred let go of Arthur and backed away slightly. His face was bright red. "S-Sorry... I just... I mean..." He couldn't think of a way to explain actions. I'm such an idiot! I shouldn't have kissed him! That was so stupid of me! He screamed at himself in his mind and stared at the ground like it was the most interesting thing in the world.

"N-no it was.... quiet alright." Arthur said nervously. He could still feel the warmth of Alfred's lips against his. Arthur put his head in his hands as he blushed even more at the thought.

Alfred sat criss-cross on the floor, awkwardly, and continued to stare at the ground. He didn't really know what to say.

A few minutes passed in awkward silence before Arthur finally spoke up. "Alfred?" He asked nervously.

Alfred looked at Arthur, "Yes, Artie?"

Arthur felt a warmth shoot through his chest when he heard Alfred use his nickname. "Follow me." Arthur stood up and held a hand out to Alfred.

Alfred nodded and took the Brit's hand. They walked into the living room and sat on the couch. Although, Alfred made sure not to sit too close, afraid he would make things awkward.

Arthur picked up his spell book, which was lying open on the couch, and flipped through the pages. After searching for a minute, he found a spell that relieves someone of their pain.

Alfred scooted a little closer to try and see what Arthur was reading. Sadly, he didn't understand what any of the words meant so he decided to ask. "What's the spell about?"

"It takes away a bit of pain from the user." Arthur said while reading over the spell.

Alfred felt guilt wash over him, "Oh." He mumbled, sounding a little sad.

"Why do you sound so upset?" Arthur asked..

"Well, I caused you some of that pain." Alfred mumbled while looking away.

Arthur put a hand on Alfred's shoulder. "It's alright. You didn't know, you were only trying to help."

Alfred smiled and hugged Arthur. "Thanks."

"My pleasure, you bloody halfwit." Arthur said before pulling away from Alfred. "There is a downside to the spell though."

"What's the downside?" Alfred asked worriedly.

"I won't be able to feel the full amount of pain in the wound so I won't be able to tell if it's getting better or worse." Arthur replied.

"Oh... That isn't good." The American mumbled. "I guess I will have to help you watch it to make sure it gets better."

"I don't want to put you through anymore trouble." Arthur said feeling guilty. Although, he already knew that he needed Alfred to help him. He wouldnt be able to take care of the wound on his own.

Alfred shrugged. "It isn't putting me through trouble. I like helping because then I get to be the hero." He smiled and gave Arthur a thumbs up.

Arthur smiled and looked down at the spell. He took a deep breath and concentrated. He recited the words perfectly and felt a cool air form around him. The pain in his leg felt like it was being washed away. A few seconds passed and it was gone. "It's temporary and the time limit depends on how much pain was taken away. Because all of mine was taken from me, the spell wont last for very long. I will just have to keep repeating it until my wound heals."

Alfred nodded. "Well, we will just have to make sure it stays clean and healthy."

Arthur shook his head in agreement and closed the spell book. He laid down on the couch with a sigh, making sure to give Alfred room to sit.

Alfred rolled his eyes and pulled Arthur to where his head was leaning against Alfred's leg, "Honestly, I don't care if you lay on me. I mean it isn't like the end of the world." He said sarcastically.

Arthur blushed and hid his face from Alfred. "Blasted git." He mumbled.

Alfred chuckled and leaned against the back of the couch.

Arthur was relieved that his pain had disappeared. He soon drifted off into a deep sleep.
