The bleachers erupt in cheers as the players flood into the field in crimson and blue. Nora gets to her feet, pulling me with her.
"Go Pumas!" she screams over the crowd.
Plunged in the loud noise, my eyes scan the entrance, waiting. The crowd goes crazy when Mason jogs into the field, shouting directions at the others.
I see the cheerleaders, hop around swishing their pompoms in the air. Rhea walks towards Mason, curling her fingers around his neck and pulling him in for a kiss.
The crowd cheers for their famous couple. My heart sinks at the sight, and I don't know what's so crazy about it.
Nora falls into a chant together with the rest of the crowd, "Pumas! Pumas! Pumas!"
The other side of the bleachers fall into a loud chant as the opposing team makes it to the field.
"Falcons! Falcons! Falcons!"
Blue flags rise in the air for the Falcons.
A few moments later, the referee strides into the field, his lips pressed around the whistle. And so the game begins.
I see Kenneth in the field and he scores the first touchdown of the game. He does a funny taunt and ruffles the top his clothes, pointing to his name on the back. Then he spins around, facing the bleachers and points at me.
My heart stops for a second when every pair of eyes settle on me, running up and down Kenneth's jersey, which I am wearing. My cheeks heat up at the knowing looks everyone is throwing my way. Kenneth winks at me, his lips stretched wide with a grin, and he turns back around to his teammates.
When Kenneth shifts from his position, my eyes connect with the green orbs which I had once feared to look into. Mason stares in my direction, and I am too far away to make out his expression through his helmet, although I could perfectly see the green in his eyes.
My heart starts beating with the intensity of his gaze, but then Nora pounds on me with a bear hug, celebrating the touchdown.
The game continues with my eyes following every single move that Mason makes. His eyes, his commands, everything.
Nora keeps me updated about the score which I barely notice.
"That's another one for us," Nora screams in my ear, her voice dripping with excitement, "Go Pumas!"
The bleachers go wild when the score keeps making steady progress for the Pumas. A thunderstorm of cheers and chants fill the air when Kenneth scores his second touchdown, just minutes before the game is to end.
A loud cheer erupts when the clock ticks down showing the end of the game.
"We won!" Nora grabs me in a headlock, jumping up and down with glee.
Half the crowd make their way to the center of the field, throwing the players in the air, like they are footballs. Nora pulls me down the bleachers, bobbing through the crowd and dashing straight to the middle of the field.
She lets out a victorious whoop, before jumping into Seth's arms. He spins her around, her short red hair flying wildly in the air. Kenneth scrambles to his feet, from on top of two boys' shoulders. His eyes crinkle with a grin which flash his perfect pearly whites.
He makes his way towards me.
"We won," I say circling a fist in the air.
"We did," he says, his eyes darting between mine.
I give him a happy grin, which he returns.
"Mason, wait!" Rhea's voice resonates in the air, making all eyes land on her.
