Chapter 10

Magic's POV

"Happy birthday baby girl!" Mom said holding a cake in her hand.
"Thanks mom I say smiling.

"C'mon make a wish  and blow out the candles" she said getting excited.

I blow out the candles and make a wish. I'm not telling you what my wish was!.

"OK when you get back from school,we can go out. How about that?" Mom asked.

" Sure, thanks mom"

"Happy birthday Magic!" Camila cried and hugged me so tight.
I laugh"thank you Cam".

"And girl you look good!." She commented.

I wore a blue dress  dress and my hair in lose curls.

"Thank you Cam"

"Anytime, girl".

Just then,Jason,Anthony and Asher walked up to us.
"Happy birthday cupcake!" Jason laughed and hugged me. Cupcake was his nickname for me.
"Thanks J".
"Happy birthday Magic" Anthony says as he ruffles my hair.
"Thank you" I laugh as I move his hand.

Everyone but Asher wished me a happy birthday. He just stood there staring at him. Freak!.

"Happy birthday! Magic. And damn! You look good!." He said hugging.

"Thank you so much" I say hugging him back.

"I have something for but you have to close your eyes". He said.

"Oh, OK" I say closing my eyes.

"Don't peck!"

"I won't" I promised.

"OK open" he says standing in front of me.

I looked at my neck, and find a gold necklace with my name on it.
"Wow thank you so much."I say giving him a tight hug

He laughed " You're welcome" he said hugging me back.

"You shouldn't have. This looks expensive!" I say playing with my new good luck charm.

"Hey mom? Do you mind if we..."

"I know honey, don't worry. You can go with Asher"

"Really mom? Thanks so much. And am sorry we couldn't go out"

"It's  fine." she said assuring.

I went up stairs and got ready. 
I wore a black top and lemon green skirt. Grabbed my purse and headed to Asher's house.

"Do have  you to look so good?" Asher asked as he opened the door for me. Where is all this compliment coming from.

"Why are  you being so nice?" I asked and I walked in.

"It's your birthday. The least I can  do is compliment you" he said closing the door.

"Oh, thank you"I smile.
"Hold let me grab my wallet from my room" he said

"Magic you look beautiful child. And happy birthday" Rosa said, her voice echoing through the room.

"Thank you Rosa" I say hugging her.

"OK mama, no time for this." Asher said and opened the door for me

"Alright,then off you go".

We walked into a restaurant. Not just any restaurant but Bon Appetite. Its a fancy restaurant that just opened. You have to make reservations a  month early if you want to eat there.  The waiter showed us our seats. And we took our seats.

   "Wow this place is huge" I say as we took our seats.
"And beautiful just like you" Asher remarked.
"Thank you and you look good too" I compliment him.
"I know" he says. Wow! No thank you. I roll my eyes and he smirks.

After the meal, we head home.
I have to say this is the nicest thing anyone has for me. It's so nice of him and am really grateful.

'Thank you for the necklace and dinner. It's really thoughtful and really lucky to have a friend like you" I say as he pulls up my drive way.

"You're welcome beautiful" he says leaning closer. Oh my god what is happening?!.

His lips touch mine and I could feel myself melting. I think am going to die. Magic! Calm down.

We pulled away from each other.
"You should get going"he said trying not to look me in the eyes.

"Yeah, goodnight" I say and open the door.

"Hi mum!" I say as I open the door breathing hard.

"Hey honey" she says smiling.
"I saw that you know"she says pointing to the window.
Great! She saw us kissing.

"Oh well ummm......" I began.
"Don't worry Magic its fine. I saw it coming." She said sitting me down.

"Are you sure mom?"
"Yes honey. His the one". The one? What does that even mean?.
"What are talking about?"
"His your true love. It's so obvious"
  "Mom that is crazy? That's impossible!" I say forcing a laugh.

"You like him don't you" she asks holding my hand.
"Yes mom I do . I really do but he can't possibly be "the one" ". I say putting the one in air quotes

After talking to mom,I went to my room and thought long and hard about it. If his the one that means his life is in danger as well as mine.
The darkness is either out to get me or my true love. That's why dad died.

"So how was the dinner last night" Anthony asked as I took a sit on the lunch table.
"Its was fine, thank you" I say and take a sip of my milkshake.

"And the kiss?" Jason asks raising his head from his phone.
Once he says that, I stop and my eyes open wide.

"The what?" I asked hoping my ears were playing tricks on me.
"Oh C'mon we know you guys kissed
