Chapter 12

Magic's POV

"I'll get it!" I yell to mom as I go to open the door. It's Saturday and I chose to stay at home. I'll be  going over to Asher's later in the day. To my surprise, Asher was standing at the door.

"Asher? What are doing here. Why are you not resting?"

"Forget all that Magic, its not important". He walks in and stands  in front of me.

"How can you say that?. You're not well and you don't want to rest and...."

"Magic!" He yells
"Who is the darkness, what does he want from you?" He says.

"The what now?" I asked with fear.
I really was hoping he won't find out and I didn't have to tell him.

"You heard me. Who is he?!" He says getting impatient.
"How did you get to know about him" I asked.

"When I feel unconscious, a voice told that he was coming for you and I and said that he was the darkness"he said.

"I need you to listen very carefully and please ask me anything when I finish my story. But first sit down" I say taking in a deep breath.

"I don't to" he says stubbornly.
"OK. You know how you asked me about my name?. Well I answer Magic because am not from here"

"What I mean is I am a witch. I posses Magical powers and I own a wand, a spell book and everything. The reason I moved here is because of the darkness."

"His after me. At first he was after my dad but he defeated him and killed him. My mom had us move. So the darkness couldn't get me. And now he knows that you're my true love so he is out get you!. And am really sorry Asher because of me your life is in danger" I finished off.

"Wow, so you're not human?"he asked.
"Yeah am not. it's also the reason
why I missed your party".

"When i get my hands on him am going to strangle him so hard....."

"Asher, this is serious business.  I just want for you to be safe. Be really careful cause his watching your every move" I warn him.

   For all we know his right here listening to us. Am so scared that I might lose Asher just the way mom lost dad. I still see the sadness in her eyes. I still hear her cry at night and it scares me to know that the same thing could happen to me. I really love Asher and my heart aches at the thought of him in danger.

All of a sudden, I found myself crying. I need to let it out. I have been strong for too long. I didn't want to cry because that would make mom cry too and i can't have that.

"Don't cry , please don't"  Asher said squeezing me tightly in a hug.

"We are going to get through this. I promise you that. I know you will defeat him. You're a brave,smart let's not for beautiful oh and hot witch and am sure the darkness is no match for you"

I let out a small smile and hits his chest playfully.
"Hey!." He said pouting
"Thanks Asher" I say.

"Ummm Magic" he says
"Hmm?" I raise my head from his chest.
"I know this isn't the best time to ask you this, and I already hate myself  but" he says looking at the door
"Out it already!" I say impatiently
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He says.
Oh my God! Finally! Calm down Magic!.

" Yes Asher, I will" I say unable to control my joy.
"Thank goodness!" He signs in relieve.
He leans closer and places a soft kiss on my lips.
"Bye  I'll see you later." he says

As soon as he closes the front door, I begin jumping up and down the room.
"Am Asher's girlfriend!" I shout so loud.
"Finally, took him long enough" mom says
"What?" I ask
"Honey, like I always say, I saw it coming."  I just smile.

"He what?!" Camila yells over the phone.
"He asked me to be his girlfriend Cam" I say smiling
"Did you say yes?. I hope you did!"
"Relax, I did waste time to say yes!"
"Am so happy for you!" she squeals happily.
"Thank you. I have to go now mom's calling. Bye"
"Bye. Talk to you later" she said and hung up.

The news about me and Asher spread like wild fire. The whole school knew it. As I walked through the walls, I could her whispers and I could care less about them and their silly gossips.

"Hey there" a familiar voice said and wrapped his hand around my waist.
"Hey" I smiled
" i'm here to walk by girlfriend to class. Which is also my class so I will be killing two birds with one stone" he said and entangled our hands together.

As we walked through the halls. I could here different comments. I saw Chloe standing and looking at us with pure hate and lost in her eyes. Oh well who care about her.

We got to class and I could hardly concentrate because Asher kept making me laugh.
"Can you please stop?" I begged while laughing
"Nope" he said popping the "p".
"I love seeing you happy. It makes me happy".
"Hey ?"
"Hmmm?"
"How do you know am your true love?"
"Because my mom told me. She can tell the future" I say returning to the work on my desk".
"Like a psychic?"
"Yeah like a psychic" .

After the class I had history and Asher had Maths so we parted ways.
On my way to the my class, I could feel someone following me .
Could it be the darkness?.
But I brushed it aside thinking it was just me being paranoid.

Suddenly some someone pushed me into the storage room. I couldn't make out who it was because every where was dark.
"Damn! You are beautiful" the deep voice said and took a step closer.
"Who are you?" I asked with a shaky voice.
"That's not important. Now let's make a deal, no one not even your boyfriend can know about me" he said flipping the light switch on, revealing who it was.

"James?"I say in disbelief.
James was my partner for a report in History. He told me liked me but I told him I wasn't interested.

"So you do remember me?" He said sarcastically.
"What do you want from me?"
"I want you. He doesn't deserve you, I do. I love you Magic."

I closed my eyes and pushed him. Luckily, he landed on the floor and I ran out. Tears were already threatening to escape. I closed my eyes and trapped them in.

"Magic? Is that you?" Asher's voice echoed through the hall.
"Hey" I said and flashed a weak smile.
"What's this" he said cleaning the tears from my cheeks. So they fell. Damn!
"Why are you crying" he said with concern flashing in this eyes.
"I am not crying" I lie but my tears betray me and fall again.
"Yes, you are. Now tell me why!"
"Asher calm down. I just fell down and it hurt me really bad. That's all" I lie again. I don't think he needs to know about my encounter with James.
"Alright but be careful,next time okay?" He says
"OK, I promise".
