Abnegation

The factions were becoming increasingly uneasy about Abnegation. Some factions like the Erudite didn't like how much government power they had. Even if they were the supposedly selfless faction, 50 representatives compared to the Candor and Erudite 1, and the Dauntless 5. It just didn't seem right.

So they did what any government would do and they rounded up all Abnegation-born transfers and made them go back to Abnegation.

They weren't risking the Abnegation taking over the whole city from the inside of each faction.

So Abnegation had one of their government members go to each faction and bring back the Abnegation-borns. It wasn't too hard. There had only been 4 transfers in the past 20 years so it was mostly looking for people who were 35+. They wouldn't fight.

Tris sat at a table with her friends during lunch. Only three weeks away from Abnegation and she already had to go back.

"Hey," Christina nudged her, "We're still gonna be friends right?"

Tris smiled at her, "Of course, I hope they let us come back after this all blows over."

"Me too." Christina told her.

All too soon, a man dressed in Abnegation grey walked into the room, talking to Max and a few other Dauntless leaders.

Max turned to face the room and yelled, "Listen up!"

The room quieted down and the Dauntless looked to see the Abnegation representative. "Alright, there are currently two living Abnegation-born Dauntless and I'm here to get them." The man said and checked a piece of paper, "I need Beatrice Prior and Tobias Eaton."

The room murmured a little bit. Eaton? As in Marcus Eaton's son? They never knew he was one of them.

Tris stood up without complaint and walked over to the man.

"Beatrice Prior?" He asked.

"Yeah."

"I need the fingerprint of your right pointer finger."

She held out her right hand and the man took her finger print and put it on a piece of paper.

The man looked up. "I still need Tobias Eaton."

Zeke looked at his friend, he knew that Four was Abnegation-born and nudged him.

Four looked at him and raised an eyebrow. Zeke raised both eyebrows back, asking him a silent question.

Four sighed and stood up abruptly, shoving his chair back into place like a moody teenager. He walked over to where the Abnegation representative was standing and glared at him.

"Tobias Eaton?" The man asked.

"Unfortunately." Four spat.

"I need your finger print of your right pointer finger."

Four gave him his right hand and he recorded his fingerprint as well.

"Do I have to go?" Four asked.

"Well, we are required to take back everyone who was born there in order to-" The man started to answer.

"Yes, but are there any consequences if I don't go?" Four asked.

"Well, no, but we are taking you all back because we were told to by the other Factions." The man informed him.

"So what's making me go?" He questioned.

The man was caught speechless for a moment, "I-"

"So if I just stay here, nothing will happen to me."

"Well I just don't know, I was just instructed to take you back." The man was becoming flustered.

"So what's in it for me?"

"I mean, you can see your family again, and-" The man wasn't prepared for this to happen.

"Screw my family. I left him behind for a reason." Four said coldly.

"Mr. Eaton, I-" the man started before being cut off again, this time from Four slamming a fist on the nearest table.

"That's not my name. My name is Four." Four said.

The Abnegation man looked over to the Dauntless leaders helplessly.

"Four," Max started, "You are required to go back to Abnegation, and if you do not oblige, extreme force can and will be used."

"Why is this being taken out on us? Marcus is the problem! Execute him! The bastard deserves it!" Four was shouting now.

"Marcus Eaton is a very nice man who graciously agreed to bring all Abnegation transfers back in order to keep the peace." The Abnegation man said.

"Ha. You've seen his mask. You don't know the real him. You know the mask. The only people who know the real Marcus are me and my mother." Four told him coldly. "I'm not going back."

Everyone stared at him, partially in shock. While Four was glaring at the Abnegation, another dauntless had snuck up behind him and injected something into his neck.

His eyes rolled up into the back of his head and he slumped to the ground, unconscious.

"That should make it easier to take him back." Max commented.

Two other dauntless then picked up Four (obviously struggling) and carried him out of the room.

Tris just put her hands up in mock surrender and walked out of the room with the Abnegation man.
