“Congratulations Ji-hyo.”

“I am so happy for you.”

Smiling, you accepted the hugs and congratulations as you stood by the private room inside the restaurant. Wearing your favorite, black and silver knee length dress, you leaned against the wall to give yourself a break, while you waited for more people to arrive. You really weren’t expecting this many people, but I guess when you are about to marry someone like Park Hyung-Sik your engagement party is going to be slightly larger than normal. Though it would had been nice if he was on time to help you greet everyone. It made you feel awkward greeting everyone alone. Glancing at your phone, you re-read his most recent text assuring you he would be there in 10 minutes. That was 20 minutes ago. The price of being a sought after actor

Exasperated, you straighten up when you notice some stragglers for the dinner party come into the restaurant. Bowing slightly, you plaster a smile and give your hugs and handshakes, just as you see your very late fiancé entering the building. Ushering the guests inside, you wait for them to enter before sliding the door shut quietly, crossing your arms. Noticing you, he smiles and attempts to give you a kiss on the lips, in which you turn and his lips land on your cheek.

“Ji-hyo?”

“You’re late….”

“You know I was at the site...I tried to le-”

“I don’t care...it’s our engagement party and you’re late. I had to greet all of our guests alone.”

Putting his arm around your waist, he kissed the side of your head gently.

“I’m sorry Ji-hyo, you know my work. I couldn’t leave until it was done.”

“Yeah...right.” you muttered, not looking at him as he took his arm away from around you and offered it to you.

Still pissed, you take a minute to calm down as you run your finger under your closed eyes to stop your frustrated tears from falling. You knew you couldn’t control his work. You knew how demanding it could be with an upcoming drama, you met on the job as his makeup artist and stylist, so you knew better than anyone, but still you had hoped he would at least try to put your engagement first for just one day.

Taking a breath, you opened your eyes and let them fall to the main door again, causing you to almost choke on your air.

Your eyes were drawn to three men entering the restaurant, the taller one with golden- brown hair who looked like a CEO with the glasses, another with dark brown hair, that reminded you of a model with his features, and the final one, the shortest out of the group with jet black hair, his need for appearing unrecognizable apparent with the black mask he wore over his mouth, but you knew exactly who he was.

“Yoongi…” you whispered softly, causing Hyung-Sik to turn around and look at your blank face, like you had seen a ghost.

“Ji-hyo are you ok-” he glanced in the direction you were staring, and laughed a little.

“Oh you just saw them. Starstruck by BTS, but not by your soon-to-be anymore. he teased, waving the boys over, but you didn’t hear him.

“Taehyung!” How are you?”

“Hyung, it’s great to see you it’s been too long!” the model-like man spoke as he gave your fiancé a hug, with the other two following suit.

Breaking away from the half hug, the man wearing the face mask and removed it, before glancing in your direction, his mouth opening a little.
Your eyes met, but no words came out of your mouth. The other men were talking amongst themselves for a few minutes, not noticing the looks of shock on both your faces until Hyung-Sik took your hand and smiled at Yoongi.

“She is beautiful right?” he bragged, squeezing your hand, snapping you from your daze. “This is my fiancee Ji-hyo.”

Moving a strand behind my ear, I regained my composure and bowed to all of them, smiling slightly. Yoongi kept staring at me, but I ignored it and moved closer to Hyung-Sik.

“Ji-hyo this is Kim Taehyung, Kim Namjoon, and Min Yoongi. They are all in BTS and Taehyung and I did some acting together.” he said proudly. Rolling my eyes jokingly, I looked at him and the others.

“I know who you all are. He acts like I don’t know the most influential and popular kpop band is and that I don’t know the dramas he has acted in and the friends he has.”

Namjoon and Taehyung laughed and shook Hyung-Sik’s hands congratulating him, while Yoongi cleared his voice and held out his hand next, but to me.

“Ji-hyo...congratulations. I honestly didn’t think I would see you again like this.” he said flatly, no emotion.

Everything went silent between the others then as they stared at both of us.

“Hyung you already know her?” Namjoon asked.

“Ji-hyo, you know Yoongi? How?”

Pulling my hand away, I looked at Hyung-Sik and smiled a little, before I glanced at Yoongi, my smile staying, but the meaning more cold.

“We used to be friends.” I stated. “Best friends.”

Yoongi looked at the floor, his feet shiting a little, his hands going into his pockets. He was obviously uncomfortable with the situation, his body language showed.

“Hyung, you never mentioned her before. When was the last time you saw each other? Was it school?” Taehyung pressed, as the others stood wondering. Not saying anything, he bit the inside of his cheek, so I spoke.

“We were friends since we were little, in school and even after when he debuted.” My stare held on Yoongi, I wanted him to feel my eyes burn into him.

“So what happened? You said ‘used to be friends’” Hyung-Sik said as he looked between us. Opening my mouth to answer, my deep seeded anger I thought I forgot about to come forth, I was silenced by Yoongi’s simple words.

“Life happened.”
