I gripped my head, nightmare dissolving into a dark bedroom. I let out a shaky sigh, slowly sitting up.
That dream...
I was hoping I would never have to see it again. My mind wandered towards the boy, face blocked by brilliant sunlight. It felt...warm. I felt happy, content, and safe. Unlike now. I brought my knees up to my chest, resting my chin on top. What do I do now? The mansion is dark and full of...vampires. I let out a pitiful laugh, a lone tear streaming down my cheek.
Rubbing it away I got to my feet, entering the hallway. I walked with no real destination in mind. The house was still and quiet, as if I was the only one inside.
How unsettling.
I stared at the wooden door in front of me. Without meaning to I ended up in front of Yao's room. What am I doing here? It's not as though he can help me...
I jumped back as the door opened. Yao appeared, disheveled from waking. His hair was loose, brushing it away from his brown eyes.
Yao: Your thoughts woke me from my slumber.
I had forgotten. Even before he was able to tell the nature of my thoughts. So, would he be able to know I had a nightmare?
He let out a sigh, taking a step forward.
Yao: Ruminating on the past...has its consequences.
Reader: What?
Yao: There is no use worrying, as it cannot be changed by our present or future actions. Best go back to sleep and forget it ever happened...all of it.
Without another word he closed the door shut, leaving me alone in the dark hallway.
The past? How-just how strong are his powers?
Coming here didn't lessen my worries, only bringing about more questions. Still, the way he spoke though, he almost seemed sad.
What are you hiding, Yao?
