You know, it wasn't Shane's fault he let his identity slip. He just couldn't scare all the ghouls away without accidentally showing who he really was. You see, Shane's a demon. From hell. You know, that place with Satan and all those wrong-doers? The place where bad people get tortured for eternity by Satan's servants? Yeah, that's Shane's home-sweet-home.
Society's view on demons start with the heart-warming description of: Evil, despicable, ugly, terrifying, tricksters, torturers, meanies, liars, murderers, so on so forth. And most demons are every single one of those words. But not every demon. Not every demon as in, Shane. Shane isn't that type of demon. He doesn't see the point of torturing people, although he's done his fair share of hurting human souls. He knows these murderers, rapists, thieves, kidnappers, have done the wrong thing and deserve punishment for all eternity blah, blah, blah. He would rather leave the torturing to his fellow demon kind. Shane is more of a liar, than a merciless, bloodthirsty meanie.
So Shane left. You must be thinking: He left? He can do that? Just leave Hell? Nah, that's not possible... And you're right. You can't just leave hell. But as I stated before, he's a liar, not a torturer.
So anyways, Shane lied his way out of the depths of hell and wound his way in U.S. More specifically, Illinois. Using his demonic abilities, Shane changed the memories of his new "parents" so they believed they had a child all along. He changed his form into a child according to the time of his made up birth (May 16, 1986). Shane decided to slowly "age" to correspond with the normal growth of a child. Since he already knew everything he had to know for school, and was a malicious boy to start with, he didn't exactly try his hardest and played it off as if it was his level of intelligence.
He (surprisingly for a demon) loved his family. His mother made the best cookies in the world, his father was affectionate (Unlike someone he knows) and taught him how to play with a football, even though sports weren't really Shane's thing. Shane grew up with loving, accepting and wonderful people who helped him with personal problems he didn't even know he had, like the emptiness of family and loved ones. He became a loving, charismatic, funny, sweet, caring, loyal man who would do anything for his family and friends. Yeah, he had friends. A new concept for the demon, but something he enjoyed having. He surprised even himself with how much he had changed, but it was a good change, a change he could get behind.
Adulthood came and Shane moved out of his parents home, a time where everyone was sentimental, even Shane himself. He got a little apartment close to his university and eventually got a degree in film making. He applied for a job at BuzzFeed and moved out to Los Angeles to start his new job in producing videos. He started many series, such as: Pie After Dark, Zack and Justin, and many others.
But his life changed when a certain friend called Ryan Bergara asked him to host a show called BuzzFeed Unsolved...
