i woke up, the clock marked 11am. i brushed my teeth and hair, as usual, and got dressed. i checked to see if my parents were there. nope, i headed over to the curtis' house. when i opened the door everyone looked up at me. they seemed a bit off, they'd usually greet me with a "mornin" or somethin'. instead i said it since no one else did.
——————————————————————————
y/n: mornin' everyone.
ponyboy: mornin'...
my eyes scanned across the room, no sign of johnny. it was pretty odd, considering he's over here every single day.
y/n: where's johnnycakes?
everyone looked at each other. two-bit stood up from his chair and told me to go outside. i went outside confused. two-bit looked at the floor. this wasn't like him, id expect him to make a joke by now. he looked around cluelessly. it looked like he was trying to think of something to say.
two-bit: y/n, im gonna tell you somethin', and it ain't gonna be easy to tell you.
y/n: o-okay...
two-bit: look, we all know you and johnny are dating.
[ my eyes widened ]
y/n: what about it?
two-bit: you know the rules and all...
y/n: but tim nor curly knows about it, so it isn't a problem right?
two-bit: that's the thing. curly saw y'all at the arcade.
[ i felt my heart stop. i didn't say anything. ]
two-bit: you aren't allowed to see him anymore. tim was real upset when he found out. he threatened us. he said that if he caught you two together that there would be consequences.
y/n: h-he can't do that.
two-bit: im sorry. johnny was-
i didn't wait for him to finish his sentence. i just ran. i didn't know where i was going, but i knew for sure i ain't staying in this hell hole. i ran about two blocks from the curtis' house. i figured out what i was gonna do. i needed a fresh start. i was running away and never coming back. but i needed a plan. you knew one escape artist and one only. dallas winston. you ran over to buck's. you practically busted open the door, passed the drunk men, and went upstairs. you knocked on the old, rickety, door. he soon opened the door.
dally: y/n?
y/n: i need your help.
you told him everything, but as you were explaining you couldn't get a hold of yourself, you just started crying.
dally: listen man, i know i can't do much, but if you really wanna run away, i know of a place. it's in new york, but you gotta think about what you're doing first.
y/n: i know this is what i want, but don't tell anyone where im going.
dally: alright man, here's the plan.
he told you what to do, every direction, everything. he gave you fifty dollars.
y/n: thank you dallas.
you ran to catch the train that dally told you about.
when you got on you didn't get any sleep. all you were thinking about was johnny. he probably wasn't as hurt as you. he probably wanted this. you felt like there was something missing. like you weren't complete without him.
