Thomas hated maths almost as much as he hated biology. His Mom was convinced he could be a mathematician, as was his teacher. Thomas didn't understand why. He never paid any attention and had zero interest in the class except for one aspect - Jodie Crawford.

Logan would probably shoot him if he knew Thomas had a thing for his twin sister. Logan and Jodie looked nothing alike. Logan was tall, tan with dark hair and eyes whereas Jodie was small, slim and had the greenest eyes Thomas had ever seen. He had it bad for her but she only saw him as Thomas, the guy who threw water balloons at her and chased her with worms when they were younger - her brother's best friend. She was the reason that it never worked out with Thomas and anyone else. For him, she was the only one he wanted.

Ms. Masterson started the class by introducing them to the wonderful world of imaginary numbers, a concept which Thomas picked up without having to try. Instead he occupied himself by staring at the back of Jodie's head and imagining scenarios that if Logan found out, it could cause Thomas serious damage to his baby maker.

Thomas rested his head on the cool desk while his teacher rambled on about square roots and the letter i.

Four classes, a lunch including an awkward conversation with an ex and an intense basketball session later, Thomas was finally home.

He decided to attempt his biology homework. Coach had given him yet another lecture this afternoon so he needed to try. Flipping open his book, he skipped to the chapter they were currently on and attempted the questions. Thomas felt proud of himself that he had managed to write something down for each question.

After quickly scribbling some Spanish sentences and half attempting his impossible history essay, he was done for the night.

After a long hot shower, he decided to go to bed. It was only a few minutes past ten but he had had a long day, especially since Coach had pushed the team more than usual. Next week would make or break most of the player's basketball careers. One reason - scouts. Thomas was only a junior but if a scout noticed him this early, it could mean great things for him.

He put his headphones in his ears and turned the music up loud. Thoughts flooded through his head about basketball and the little amount of information he had managed to learn about biology today but before he fell asleep, there was only one thing on his mind. Jodie.
