The devil within

A Perfect Connection

Darkness.

At first I thought I was back in hell and that I failed to bond with Skylar but then I heard it.

A voice.

It was so quiet but still called out to me as I looked around the bleak darkness that smothered me.

"Hello?" I called out into the void

"h-hello, where am I?" a voice called back

"Skylar is that you?" I shouted in return

"yeah I'm guessing your Vivian. What's going on? Where are we? Where did you go? I watched you disappear" Skylar blurted out question after question

As I waited for her to Finish I took in my surroundings, still darkness. No light source whatsoever. This can't be where I'm stuck can it? The department made it out to be perfect... Not.. This.

I soon realised that the constant rambling from Skylar had gone and been replaced yet again by silence.

"Skylar? Listen I need you to keep calm. We're inside your head. It's just the bond completing itself. Trust me I know just about the same amount as you do in this part. This is my first human" I said my voice rising

Suddenly a overwhelming sense of panic filled the darkness.
It seemed like the darkness was collapsing in on itself   almost suffocating me with the heaviness of the fear that now surrounded me.

"Skylar I need you to stop freaking out OK! Or you'll kill us both before we're able to get out. The bond is nearly finished just hold on a little longer okay? I'm here. Just come to me. Follow my voice" I called out, trying to try and get her to make an appearance so I at least knew where she was.

Suddenly there was a faint glow, it was far away but visible. I thought it meant the bond was finished but the air seemed to get thicker and more suffocating.

"Skylar!" I called out again and the light seem to flicker at the sound of the name so I figured it must be skyler herself.

"it's me Vivian, come here!" I shouted as loud as I could

The light recognised my voice and came towards me, as it did my surroundings started to light up and I turned and looked at the newest addition to my environment. It seemed like we were in a bedroom of sorts. There was a bed, window, some shelves. You know typical bedroom attire.

When I turned around to where I saw the light last I came face to face with skyler, still a-glow. 

I jumped at the closeness between us.

When I recovered but my heart was still racing, I placed a hand on skylar's shoulder as soon as I did that a rush of memories came slamming into my mind.

Everything from her first word to the argument she had today at school. One by one I saw her life unfold and after seeing her face I know she had seen the same for me.

"I guess now we know each other" I said with a chuckle trying to lighten the mood

"yeah I guess so" she agreed a little breathless.

After a little bit of silence as both of us adjusted to what we had just witnessed skyler spoke up

"urm so what do we do now? She said with a questioning look

" urm I guess we need you to wake up, I don't know how long you've been out for " I said trying to piece everything together.

" okay so how do i do that? " she asks

" I don't know to be totally honest... What if I gave you a little Shock?" I said while making my fingertips glow and crackle with electricity

" I mean I already cut myself for you so why not" she said with a chuckle while rubbing her arms trying to warm them up and I shit you not I felt phantom hands doing the same thing on my arms, a shiver ran down my Spine.

To test my theory I pinched my arm

"ouch" Skylar squealed

" yup that's what I thought" I said with a laugh

"what?" she said with a curious look

" it seems we're connected in more ways than one" I replied

"so if I shock you I'll shock myself I don't really fancy being electricuted" I said as I glanced at her.

She was still glowing but not as brightly as before and the suffocating air had become nothing more than a breeze.

"we still need to get out of here" said Skylar, breaking my train of thought.

"oh yeah" I murmured more to myself than to skylar

I have no idea how we're going to wake her up, I've never been in this situation before.

Maybe if we get her body to react I bet her mother will wake her

"I've got a plan. And it's going to hurt us both" I said into the silence.

" we need your body to react on the outside but seeing as your mind is a lot more sensitive than your outside body so to do that we need to give you a big shock" I said while making my fingertips glow again with electricity

"this. Is going to hurt and I'm sorry" I said as I quickly pushed my fingers into where her heart should be.

The pain was agonising and our shared bond made it 10x worse.

I gritted my teeth against the pain while Skylar screamed.

I just hope it was enough to wake her as I could tell the pain was getting too much for her suddenly the walls started to crack and fall away leaving white light in its place, I quickly let go of her and she collapsed in my arms breathing heavily

"I'm sorry, I really am. I've only just got my powers I didn't realise I'd be so strong I'm sorry" I repeated again and again while I watched the walls crumble.

Soon the light got too bright and I had to close my eyes, as soon as I did that I felt like I hadn't slept in years so I lay down with Skylar wrapped in my arms and slept.

What happens next I have no idea, I just hope we wake up
