"[Name]! Stop staring at the carrot!"
Glancing at a concerned Thylaili, you took a bite out of your snack, chewing slowly on the vegetable. It's already been a week since the exams, and the letter would arrive at any second. To help pass the time, you've been helping out with the shop, eating anything before it went bad (or giving it to neighbors, you couldn't eat to your hearts content until you read that letter). "Mmf...Did you check the mail?" Taking another bite of the carrot, Thylaili set down a pot that was filled with lavender.
A white piece of paper was expertly hidden among them, and you didn't hesitate to fish it out. "That little twerp. When I get my hands on him, I'll be sure to teach him a lesson." Carefully opening the letter, you shrugged your shoulders, shaking your head. "Personne n'est parfait." Shaking out a small piece of paper, you unfolded it, scanning the words and mumbling some of the letters. [Nobody's perfect]
"I got in. The sweat and tears I shed on the battlefield turned out to be—" Thylaili pressed her finger against your lips, hushing you. "We don't need another brooding moment about something exciting. Let's tell Miss Kataoaka and I'll make some sweets." Quickly finishing the rest of the carrot, you clenched your hand into a fist, looking off to the side where some plants were put aside for the day.
"And don't you dare have a brooding moment while I'm gone."

Pulling away from your sister's hands, she seemed upset when you rearranged your hairstyle back in place to cover your eyes. When she asked why you refused to let her do your hair, you simply answered with "A friend of mine thought it was cute."
She let it go after that.
"Remember to call or text me if anything comes up. If you make a friend, don't stay over at their place. It's only the first day. Do you want a carrot? I'll give you a carrot for good luck. I hope you have everything because I'm not gonna be able to go to the school and give it to you. Now where are those carrots? Ah, don't forget," At this point, you might as well give up the dream of attending this school. Sure Miss Kataoaka made sure you were good to go, but she did that last night. Not the day of.
Sometimes, Thylaili could be such a worried hen.
"As the poor maiden searches for the snack to please a member of the Black Rabbit's owlsa, time ticks away for the arrival of death." Catching the carrot as it was thrown to you, you returned Thylaili's pout with a smile that would strike anyone dead. Too bad she grew immune to it over the years.
"Roll over and die already."
"I would, but you're the oldest, and you wished great misfortune upon me. Frith-rah will have your head before he takes my own life."
"Get out and never return."
"Yes, I'll take a side of salt with my dinner. Good day to you madam."
Closing the door to the shop, the journey to being the most honourable and skilled hero awaits. Nothing would or could bring you down in the dumps because if someone had tried to strike you down,
You'd ask Frith-rah himself for his untestable strength.
"[Name]! Fancy seeing you here! May I interest you in a chat while we make our way to school on this fine morning?" Gawking at your red-haired friend, the idea of him speaking somewhat identical to what you wrote down in your journal would be the last thing you'd think of. He thought it would be fun to try and be formal, but he began to have second thoughts when you just chomped down rather harshly on the poor carrot in your tight grip.
"Eijirou, the weather speaks to me. Frith-rah himself commanded them to tell me of what fortune it would bring, or the horrendous amount of destruction that Frith-rah ordered to be brought upon this cursed land." Turning to Eijirou, you pointed the bitten end of the carrot towards the sun. "We shall bathe in the richness of the heat until Inlé decides to rise from the darkness. If I am wrong, then Frith-rah has decided to leave my side for the day, so I seek comfort in the dead."
He squinted his eyes at the sun, before looking back to see you sucking on the carrot to soften it enough to bite into. He smiled at how you quietly mumbled about how you regretted biting into it so hard earlier, cursing to whatever God you seemed to worship 24/7. To him, Eijirou found it interesting. "Wow. Did you learn this when you were in Australia?"
Clearing your throat, you shook your head. "I learned how to drink when I was in the down under. I'll drink to that though. Cheers mate." [I really hope I don't offended Australians and I hope I'm not being stereotypical about them either please forgive me I've been staring at a screen to get an idea for 3 hours now and as I write this I realize that this should be in an author's note in the end whoops my b homies]
He barked out in laughter, only stopping when the two of you made it to the school. "You don't happen to have the ability to find my class, do you?" Slightly lifting up your ears, the scent of the air changed from it's normal lush undergrowth to an unbearable smell of something burning. "It depends if we're in the same class. As much as I enjoy your aura, I'd love to get to my class and have time to sit in the back to have a good view of both the students and teachers." Eijirou was lost for words, but he quickly caught up to you, trying to keep up with the fast pace you had.
Something inside of your heart (that was covered in a thick layer of protection you called The Void) thumped against the walls that your mind desperately tried to build, but one day, even Frith-rah would grow sick and tired of your cluelessness and strike them down himself.

If anyone that speaks another language, can they please make sure that translation for the song is right? None of us had the slightest thought to learn another language that wasn't romance because I'm a hopeless romantic while Lupis is helpless at romance.
I wish I were in a relationship, but whenever I see her next to her boyfriend I have the urge to squeeze the words out of her throat because I know she's holding back her true desires. {smirks}
