Chapter 2 : Bluebirds

               ~Fukyouwaon intro~

Crickets chirp in the lovely winter everning.

"In this world, there is only love." Yui spoke softly in thought.

"That is what I believe.." she sheds the parts of her blood stained clothing that has been ripped and barely hanging on.

"No matter the time or place,
Man desires War because Man is foolish...and War is the smartest choice."
Habu reaches a hand to the stricken Yui.

"War..." Zumiko glances down at her intertwined hearts necklace on her left wrist, reminiscing of her dear friend, as she reached back.

"My name is Imaizumi, Yui."

The stranger helps the bandit to her feet. "Habu, Mizuho."

"You must feel weak, but if you want to stay alive, I think it is best that we should move from here."
Habu gave the young thief a few moments to gather herself and retrieve her blade.

~Before they left, Habu kneels down and started to pray as the crickets continue chirping~

"Huh? What are you doing?" Zumiko bent over.

"I am honoring all those that breathed their last breath here.." Habu returns to silence in the middle of the barren battlefield.

"You believe there is a better place for them?"

"You have to believe in something."

Hearing this gave Yui the chills.
"They took the wrong person, I am not even supposed to be here. How I am still alive?
The young bandit looked to the skies. "Could it be because of you Techi?"

The skilled archer's eyebrow raised.

"Who is this Techi-san that you speak of?" Habu solemnly asks.

Zumiko grows silent in her memory as she walks away, visually irritated.

"Hey wait, where are you going? We need to go to the North!"

The theif pauses. "...We?"

Habu hurries to catch Yui and interrupts her path.

Imaizumi sternly ignores her.

Mizu grabs her wrist.

"Let me go! What you asked is none of your concern. You helped me, now leave me alone!" In a brief struggle of strength, Yui reverses the archer's grip.
This time Mizuki runs in front again but instead raises her hand.

Habu backhands Yui!

"You speak of a fallen friend, so avenge them, but is this how you intend do it?
You think you are the only one?" Mizu harshly scolded. "Who do you think you are!?"

"Why would a fool like you care!?!" Yui cries back.

"I care because I need you!" Habu speaks with conviction. "We need each other!"

Zumiko is left speechless.

"I've lost more than you can imagine, because of this War!" Habu punches the air.
"I couldn't protect my own people and now I have nowhere to call home."

Yui sighs. "So what do you want me to do!?"

"Help me!" Mizu beggs, her voice starting to crack.

"We are not powerless here, I know we can find a way to stop this struggle so the people can go home, I can go home...and maybe you can find your friend!"

"You really believe the two of us can make a difference?" Yui scoffed at the very idea, knowing that she wants to do the same.

Zuumin nods back with great reluctance. "Ugh."
