A song played, I sat there watching it till the end. Something caught my attention and it was the dance, the way they turn and move their bodies, the fierce look, ending every move so smoothly and gracefully.
"...Man, what was that?" A slow whistle escaped my little sister's lips, as I shoved her face away from my laptop. Children these days.
I had tried out a number of choreographies, some of them consuming more time and effort than the others, seen a lot other artists, many dance covers but this.
Dumbstruck by the five minutes of the song, I felt a rush of excitement through my nerves. I wanted to see them once again, more specifically see him. So I surfed through YouTube and found out they were quite popular.
As the days passed I learned about the group of boys that were slowly taking over my heart. I loved dancing, since I was little, but growing up, it became a passion. I grew up in a small town, which was located on the outskirts of Jeju-do and had a very close friend, Min who was also from Jeju.
____
"Hey buddy" I slapped her butt earning a yelp from her.
"What's with that mood? Goin' on a date with boyfriend, huh?" She asked teasing when she clearly knew I didn't have one.
"Oh shut up, will you? I'm here to talk about our upcoming dance cover, I told you about the group right? Actually I tried out the moves bu-"
I was blabbering and this idiot was busy munching down her leftover snacks."Min. Are you even listening?" I asked raising my brows.
"Oh yeah, I'm sorry, couldn't help it, this new flavour of Lays is a gem." This girl and her food fetish.
"I knew that you would come asking about it. And yeah, that's right, their choreos are difficult, yet fantastic. I even tried out two of it. They are really amazing." She said looking at me with a small grin.
"Hey Jess, who's your bias then?" Min asked moving closer on the wooden bench.
"Bias? No no I'm not into that shit. " I said fanning my hands. She gave me the are you serious look. And I just shrugged.
"Don't act that tough. Someone's gonna creep into that heart of yours, very soon. Let's see if you can hold up your tough image then." She said smirking before moving away to eat.
It was our break time, when she explained me about the dance choreographies, and nod accordingly.
"Listen, meet me at our school's auditorium this evening, and yeah start working on the body stretches. You need to improve your flexibility Jess, alright?" She said as I nodded immediately. Back to the teacher mode.
That's what made us different from others. We both were part of the Dance Club at school, but dance meant a lot more than just a class to us. It was a passion, a dream.
Besides that I was really interested in singing, but was never confident enough to present it somewhere.____
We were returning back from our classes, pace getting slower with each step, as exhaustion was filling us.I suddenly asked her a question that has been on my mind since a few days.
"Um, hey Min. How do you know if you like someone, I mean not liking specifically, I mean if we are interested in someone?" I hesitated while asking but I knew she was great with these matters.
