Kat's POV
I didn't think it would be long before Dom got to my house, considering she always rushed to get to me when I needed her and vice versa. Normally before someone came over to the house, I would clean up a bit, but I knew Dom wouldn't care about the mess, she'd only care about me. She's so sweet and caring, I really don't know what I'd do without a friend like her. She's amazing.
Dom's POV
I had just gotten home from a day of interviews and panicked gay moments, when I got a text from Kat. She had gotten into a fight with Ray. I wondered what they had fought about but not for long, the only thing on my mind was making sure Kat was alright. She didn't tell me to bring anything, just a blanket perhaps. Bringing a blanket means I might need to stay the night. Kat didn't say that directly but I knew that's what she meant. Over the years I'd gotten pretty good at learning to speak fluent Kat. Contrary to what you might think, I'd say it's harder to learn than most languages, I mean Ray certainly can't learn it to save his damn life. So, I got the snuggliest blanket I could find and headed out. And I also stopped by the store for a tub of ice cream, because as any fluent Kat speaker would know, "bring nothing" means bring ice cream. Always bring ice cream.
Kat's POV
It was taking a little longer than I thought it would for Dom to get to my house and I started to get a little worried... what if something happened to her? What if she's hurt? What if she got in an accident? What if- I had to stop myself before I started thinking the worst, she was probably fine, I mean she had to be, she's Dom. And just then, I heard a knock at my door. Thank God. I opened the door to Dom carrying a blanket and a grocery bag, I ushered her in and she came in and set the blanket and the bag on the counter. After she did, she hugged me really tightly and for a long time.
Dom: "Are you alright? Ever since you messaged me I've been really worried."
Kat: "I'm okay as I can be I guess, I'm better now that you're here though. Thank you for coming, I really need you to be with me right now."
Dom: "Of course! There's no way I'd leave you alone right now."
That was really cute, I'm glad she's not going to leave me, I feel like clinging to her and never letting go.
Kat: "So what's in the bag?"
Dom: "Just the obligatory tub of ice cream."
Kat: "I swear, sometimes you know me better than I know myself."
They both chuckle
Dom: "So, shall I get some spoons and meet you in the living room?"
Kat: "Yep, I'll take the blanket and set up the fold-out-bed for us to snuggle on."
Dom: "Sounds great."
They smile at each other and head to do their respective tasks
(Still Kat's POV)
I pulled the cushions off of my couch and pulled out the fold-out-bed (which already had sheets on it) and I added the big blanket Dom had brought, along with a few throw pillows I had on the couch. I also decided to turn on the tv and put a movie in. I chose the movie "Room" (If you haven't seen it, the main premise of it is a 17 year old girl gets kidnapped and raped by her captor and has a kid while kidnapped and the kid grows up to be 5 while still kidnapped). It's kind of weird, but that's kind of Dom and I's movie. It was the first movie we went to see together, just us, and after the movie we talked for a bit and I remember that conversation very clearly...
******************
Kat: "So did you like the movie?"Dom: "Yeah it was interesting, I'm rather embarrassed it made me cry though."
Kat: "Aw don't be embarrassed! It was sad, I don't blame you for crying at all, I blame the movie."
They chuckle
Dom: "Yeah it was sad but it's not entirely the movie's fault... I cried because I started thinking about what it would be like if I got kidnapped that young, I would have missed out on so much... I would have never met you..."
Kat: "Yeah it is scary to think about things like that. I'm really glad you didn't get kidnapped. And I hope you never do, I mean, I love you and I'd search the ends of the earth for you if you ever did get kidnapped."
Dom's POV
Did she just say she loves me? We haven't said that yet. What the hell do I say? I love her too but I hope she means friendship love. Even if she didn't...saying I love her wouldn't be a lie in that context either.
Dom: "That means a lot to me. I love you too."
******************Kat's POV
It was the first time we said "I love you" to each other. It was and is still friendship love, but it's still a big deal to us.
Author's note- Sorry it's taken so long to update! I didn't expect so many people to read this if I'm being honest, but I'll update again as soon as I can! Thanks for reading and I hope you're enjoying it so far!
