The End of an Era

Kat's POV

I woke up at around 8 am to the sound of screaming. I looked up to see Ray. Of course.

Ray: "Are you fucking kidding me Katherine?! I come here to try and resolve things and what do I walk in to find? You, asleep on the very person that you said turns you on. I can't fucking believe this. I was going to give you another chance but now- fuck no. I've already gathered all of my things. I'm filing for divorce. See you in court."

He walks out of the house with the last of his boxes and slams the front door behind him

From the looks of it, he'd gotten there earlier and saw me and Dom and decided to get all of his stuff and when he had the last of it he woke me up with screaming. Just great. I was angry and upset, but I didn't want to wake up Dom. I looked over at her, I have no idea how she slept through all that but she did. She's so beautiful. Even with no makeup and her hair in a ponytail, she was effortlessly beautiful. Just looking at her calmed me down and I decided I should let her sleep. I decided I would make her some breakfast, to make up for waking her up last night. Of course I know what she'll want, she eats vegan and gluten free so she's kind of hard to cook for but I manage. A while ago, we tried this pretty simple recipe for breakfast and she loved it. It's basically sauteed tofu, cut up kale, some cabbage, avocado, chopped radishes, red pepper flakes, and this really amazing lemony cashew cream. So I got to work on making that for my Domi.

Dom's POV

When I woke up Kat wasn't next to me. That was the first thing I noticed. I looked around for her and I saw her in the kitchen, and something smelled good, like tofu. I sat up and stretched a bit to try and wake myself up. Then I got up and walked over to the kitchen and surprised Kat with a back hug and rested my head on her shoulder.

Dom: "Whatcha making?"

Kat: "Your favorite."

Dom: "Really? Why? I mean thank you, but you didn't need to do that."

Kat: "Yeah, I did."

Kat turns around so that Dom is in her arms and Dom lays her head on Kat's chest

Kat: "Not only did you come over when I needed you, you brought ice cream. And then you comforted me when I had a nightmare. I mean really, this is the least I could do. Plus, you deserve the best."

Dom blushed at what Kat said and buried her face in Kat's chest

Dom: "Well still. Thank you."

Kat: "No, thank you. Now, go sit down and let me get this finished up and then I'll serve you like the queen you are."

Kat chuckled lightheartedly as she said this, but of course there was some sincerity behind her words. Dom chuckled back and sat down at the table

Kat's POV

I looked in the cabinet for a bowl that's good enough for Dom, but all of the ceramic ones were gone. Ray must have taken them.

Kat sighs frustratingly and pulls out a plastic bowl. Dom notices this

Dom: "Kat is something wrong?"

Kat: "Hm? Oh it's- its nothing. Just- *sigh* Ray was here earlier before you woke up. He came to take all of his things and he yelled at me and told me he's filing for divorce."

Dom: "What?! Are you alright?!"

Dom rushes to the kitchen and hugs Kat tightly

Dom: "Why didn't you tell me sooner? I would have comforted you."

Kat: "I know you would have, it's just. I didn't want to wake you up again, and then when you did wake up I didn't want to ruin your happiness. I guess I just feel like I'm dragging you down with me. I just want to keep you happy."

Dom: "Oh Kat honey. That's what friendship is. When you're sad and upset, my job is ride it out with you, we're in this together. I'm ride or die whether you like it or not. If I'm down with you I know what it feels like and then I can help you feel better. I want you to feel like you can tell me anything. I want to be your other half. You know you're my other half right? You're my world...But anyways, the point is, we're in this together. Ride or die."

Kat: "Domi you are my other half. And I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I will next time. I promise."

Dom: "Thank you Kat. I love you."

Kat: "I love you too Domi."

Dom: "So, what's on the schedule for today?"

Kat: "First thing is to eat breakfast, but while you were talking, the tofu burned, so I suggest we just go out for breakfast."

They both chuckle

Dom: "Awe love I'm sorry. But yeah we should probably go out then."

Kat: "Alright then I'm going to go get dressed, do you need a change of clothes?"

Dom: "Considering I'm wearing the same thing I came here in yesterday, I should probably change."

They both chuckle

Dom's POV

I always keep a few sets of clothes at Kat's house for occasions like this. I headed into Kat's room and looked through my drawer of clothes until I found a suitable outfit. Once I did, I looked up to see Kat already getting dressed. We've gotten dressed in the same room before but this time it just felt a little different. More tense. I looked at her and time seemed to slow down. Her perfect slight curves, the plumpness of her skin, the way her figure slid into a perfect, slight hourglass shape. The plumpness of her breasts, rising and falling ever so gently with her breath. The shape between her collarbone and the top of her shoulder was so beautiful. And the way it contrasted with her staight bra strap was enough to drive me crazy. I've never thought about Kat like this... what was happening?
