I Won't Allow Myself To Become Friends With Those Vampires

REI'S POV

Yui and I were out for a jog early in the morning, so that way we could get away from the vampires for a while especially that pervert Laito. I ran up to the top of the hill and I stopped for a moment for Yui to catch up. Yui finally caught up and she was panting and wheezing like Darth Vader.

"*Chuckles* are you OK, Darth Vader?"

"Very funny....*pant, pant* ...you do this every day in the demon world..?"

"Sometimes, whenever I feel stressed or to escape from my duties, this is the best way to do so and besides, you could do with the escape from Ayato's fangs for a while."

Yui giggled and she then stood up right after finally catching her breath.

"I'm still wondering about something, why do you live in the demon world? don't you have a family here?"

"Sadly no, my parents were murdered when I was little, that's all I can tell you."

"Oh no, Rei-chan, I'm so sorry."

"Don't be, Karl-sama and Christa-sama are the only people who are my family now, I'm gonna do whatever I can to pay back their kindness."

"I see, you really owe them a lot don't you?"

"Of course, if Karl-sama hadn't taken me in, I would still be on the streets or dead in a ditch due to starvation."

"Wow, that must have been awful."

"Well, I might have been through a rough patch but, look at me now, I'm fine now, anyway, we should get going."

"Oh no..."

Yui whined making me laugh at her.

"Don't worry, we're gonna walk the rest of the way and if you're feeling better, we'll go for another run."

"Arigato Rei-chan."

I smiled at Yui and then we started making our way back. Once we got back to the mansion we got some iced drinks to cool down after that run. Yui sat down at the stool with her head resting on her folded arms making me chuckle at her.

"Exhausted?"

"Yeah...I've never run so fast in my life."

"That's what happens when you don't keep up the exercise, what have you doing before you came here?"

"Working with Otu-san at the church."

"Seriously? that's it?"

"Yeah..."

Yui said as she drank her iced water. Just then, Laito appeared and he smirked at us.

"Well, well, looks like you two have been busy."

"Too right we have and quit staring at my behind!"

I yelled angrily as Laito had his eyes focused on my butt. Laito chuckled at me and he said to me.

"Gomen, gomen, I couldn't help myself besides, it's not every day to see women like you two wearing tight jogging pants."

"Tch, pervert."

I grumbled angrily and then Laito stroked my chin and he said to me with a smirk on his face.

"There's no need to be so mean, Doll-chan, why don't you be nice to me for once?"

"Why don't you back off before my fist collides into that ugly mug of yours?"

Laito backed away with my showed my fist in front of his face. Yui snickered when she saw Laito's panicked expression.
