I Hope Both Christa And Subaru Regain That Lost Mother And Son Bond

REI'S POV

I was in the middle of doing my homework but, I couldn't concentrate since my mind was wandering off because I was still thinking about that dress I saw in that secret room and why Ritcher was here at the mansion. I sighed a little and I opened my desk drawer to look at the photo of me and Christa during my sixteenth birthday.

'I wonder how Christa is doing? is she coping without me? well, she should be, after all, she did get some help with her mental illness after I arrived at the demon world.'

I smiled a little and I put the photo on my mirror so I can look at it whenever I want. I decided to get changed and go for a walk to clear my head. I got changed into my usual casual wear but, I shouldn't bother putting my gloves on since I had a bandage to cover my tattoo. I put on my cropped denim jacket and I went for a walk.

I walked through the gardens and I saw some beautiful roses and the white ones stood out the most. I smiled at them and I knelt down to get a better look at them. I gently ran my fingers over the petals and I remembered the day I met Christa.

Flashback...(Rei is fifteen)

After I was shown to my new room, I decided to look around so I can get used to my surroundings since I'll be living here now. I walked through the hallways for a while until I heard a smashing and crashing sound from the living room. I ran over to the source and I saw a beautiful woman with white hair, pale skin, ruby eyes and she wore a beautiful white dress. She was shouting and panicking for no reason.

"Christa-sama! please calm down!"

Christa still looked as if she won't calm down so I had to do something. I ran over to Christa and I held her back before she could destroy something.

"Whoa! take it easy!"

"Let me go!!"

Christa got out of my grip and then she stopped glaring at me as I placed my hands on her shoulders.

"Who...who are you...?"

"My name is Rei Kurosaki, I just moved here today."

Christa sniffed me a little and she knew immediately that I wasn't like her.

"You're a...human?"

"Yeah, shocking I know."

I said as I sweat dropped a little and then Christa gently held my face in her hands and she looked into my goldish eyes.  

"You poor girl...you've been through a lot..."

My eyes widen when she said this and I asked her.

"How can you tell?"

"You've got the look of sadness in those eyes...I've seen those eyes before...my son...Subaru..."

Christa said as she lowered her head sadly and then she suddenly hugs me. I was surprised by this and then Karl showed up.

"I see you've met Christa, Rei."

I looked at Karl and I nodded my head and then one of the servants pulled her away from me. After Christa left, I was still speechless and confused about what just happened so I asked Karl what was going on.

"OK, that was weird, who was that woman and why was she acting like that?"

"My apologises Rei, that was Christa, my wife, she's got this mental illness for some time now, again, I'm very sorry for her behaviour."

"It's fine, it just took me by surprise that's all."

I smiled at Karl and then I watched Christa leave the room.

'Christa huh...?'

Flashback ends...

I smiled a little that day I met her and I also remembered how she told me that white roses were her favourite when I started living in the demon world.

SUBARU'S POV

I walked through the gardens to be left alone until I saw Rei and she was...smiling?! I watched her gently poking at one of the white roses and she had a kind smile that I had yet to see.

'Whoa, from the first day I met her, I thought she was a crazy chick who had a habit of killing people but, from this distance...she looks kinda cute with that kind smile on her face.'

"I know you're there Subaru."

Rei suddenly spoke up which nearly scared me.

"How long have you known I've been here?"

"Not long."

Rei said as she stood up from the ground with a white rose in her hand. I carefully stood next to her since she was like a predator ready to strike.

"No need to be so cautious of me, I won't bite."

Rei said with a teasing tone and I frowned a little.

"Urasai, I wasn't being cautious."

"Says the guy who was slowly and carefully standing next to me."

"Hmpf, whatever.."

I mumbled angrily and I then looked back at her. Rei looked at the white rose in her hand and I asked her.

"Do you like roses?"

"I do, I love the white roses, they remind me of Christa."

My eyes widen when she mentioned my Mother's name.

"You know my mother?"

"Of course, she and I are friends."

Rei said with a smile and I was surprised and shocked at the same time when she said this.

"Friends...? are you serious? Okaa-san wasn't like that with me."

"I know, she treated you badly and called you names, it wasn't that hard to tell the anger and sadness in your eyes."

I was shocked when Rei said this.

REI'S POV

I twirled the rose in my hand and I looked at Subaru with a smile on my face.

"Subaru, I know what Christa said and did to you was wrong but, you can't blame her for treating you badly, don't tell Karl-sama this but, I kinda blame him for making Christa ill."

Subaru frowned a little when I said this and I then placed my hand on his shoulder.

"But, let me tell you this now, despite what Christa said and done to you, she's all better now and she's not as crazy as she used to be, here."

I gave Subaru an envelope that Christa asked me to give to him when I see him.

"Christa asked me to give you this, she should have spoken to you in person but, she's still getting help right now, so she asked me to give this to you when I get the chance."

Subaru looked at the envelope and he took it from my hand. 

"You don't have to read it right now, but, let me tell you this now, Subaru, being alone isn't always the best feeling in this world, sooner or later you'll find someone special to fill that hole in your heart."

I said before turning my back towards him and walking away from him.

"Rei."

I stopped in my tracks and I looked over my shoulder and Subaru had a small smile on his face.

"Arigato, for looking after Okaa-san."

"No need to thank me, see ya."

I said as I continued to leave the gardens and head back to my room. Once I got back to my room, I placed the white rose in a small vase and I smiled at it.

'I hope both Christa and Subaru regain that lost Mother and son bond.'
