"Another successful trip I'd say!" Jack chimed from the front seat of the SUV.
"Decently easy enough. When will people learn to just not mess with foreign technology?" Owen scoffed.
"Still sucks we're going to have to file all that paper work." Tosh groaned.
"Well then, we'll have to get some coffee brewing as soon as we get back to the hub. What'd you say, Ianto? Industrial strength? I have a feeling it might be a long one." Gwen chuckled.
Ianto didn't respond.
"Hey Ianto, you awake?" Gwen shook his shoulder, but Ianto just groaned.
"Extra industrial in that case." Jack laughed at what he thought was Ianto's complaint about lack of sleep.
Ianto just gritted his teeth, the lack of response grabbing his coworkers attention.
"Ianto, you okay?" Owen asked from the front seat.
"Don't be alarmed," Ianto whispered, "But I got shot." Ianto barely had enough strength to pull back his tuxedo jacket, revealing a pool of blood and hole torn through his shirt.
"Holy shit!" Gwen yelled, already reaching over to Ianto attempt to do something about the wound and dripping blood.
"What?!" Jack screamed. "When?! Ianto, why didn't you say something?!"
"Jack, eyes on the road!" Tosh barked.
Ianto was already fading in and out of consciousness, unable to answer anyone's questions.
"We need to pull over." Owen instructed. "Let me in the back seat with him, then keep driving to the hub. We're barely five minutes away, we can make it."
Jack's grip tightened on the wheel, his shoulders hunched forward.
"Jack? Did you hear m-" Owen didn't even get a chance to finish his sentence.
Jack quickly glanced into the rear view mirror before spinning the car around into a patch of grass just off the highway. It was highly illegal, and the people behind the SUV honked, but it was over in a matter of seconds.
Jack and Owen both sprung out of the front seat the yanked open the back doors. Tosh and Gwen got into the front seats, ready to drive while giving Jack and Owen the back seat.
Owen was pulling medical supplies out of thin air and began holding bandages against Ianto's stomach. Jack attempted to keep Ianto awake, constantly yelling his name or gently shaking him. Owen and Jack pulled the doors shut, then the car was pulled back onto the highway.
"How's it going back there?" Gwen yelled.
Nobody answered, but that should have given away the fact that it was not going good.
"Hang on Ianto." Jack kept murmuring.
Owen's face was glowing in sweat as he raced against the clock. Ianto had lost what seemed to be a lot of blood. The sticky substance had coated Owen's hands and Jack was lost at what to do.
"How much further to the hub?" Jack shouted to the front seat.
"Not too much longer- a few minutes, if that." Tosh responded.
Ianto's head had fallen forward, but he hadn't passes out. Not yet at least. Jack reached over and grabbed Ianto's hand, trying to stay out of Owen's way. "Just hang on Ianto... not too much longer."
The SUV sped down the road, many other cars honking their horns in protest of Torchwood driving 20 over the limit. Owen was wrapping bandages around Ianto's torso, but the blood just kept seeping through.
"Should we take him to the hospital?" Jack asked, looking at the mess Owen had made.
"No, it's fine." Owen grunted through closed teeth.
Everytime he would wipe away blood or patch up one of the four gun shots, more blood would just seep into place. Jack had never, never, doubted Owen and he wasn't about to start to. He was just nervous that this was too much for the young doctor.
"God, I wish I had more hands." Owen grumbled, almost knocking the kit he had beside him off of the leather seat.
"Owen, maybe Jack's right. It could be easier to take him to the hospital." Gwen yelled.
"He needs a doctor Owen, multiple doctors." Jack chimed in again.
"I am a bloody doctor!" Owen yelled. "I understand you love him and just because he annoys me doesn't mean I'm not going to try and save him! So all of you shut up, shove off, and let me do my fucking job!
Silence consumed the car. Jack couldn't help but feel a twang of guilt, but all he did was tighten his grip on Ianto's hand. He could have just been imagining it, but Jack could have sworn Ianto tightened his grip as well.
Ooh yikes this one is baaaaad. But anyways, here you guys go!
