It had been two weeks. Two weeks since we had last seen Jack. Two weeks since we all got split up on a mission. Two weeks since we all met up back at the hub and realized that Jack hadn't come back yet. Two weeks of unanswered questions, of lost hope, and two weeks of dealing with a void we're unable to fill.
That was until Gwen's phone ring.
"Hello?" She answered.
At first, nothing out of the ordinary. Just another phone call. I went about my business, collecting empty coffee mugs off of desks.
"Wait wait, Andy slow down. What are you talking about?" Gwen became more frantic and took a seat on the couch. "You think what?"
My attention began to be consumed by Gwen's phone call. She stuttered some final words and hung up the phone. Everyone was staring at her, waiting for her to tell us something good.
"Andy thinks he knows where Jack is." She stated, jumping off the couch.
"What?!" Tosh yelled. "Where is he?"
"Well, Andy isn't 100% sure, but he thinks he found something that could help lead us to him."
"Well then what are waiting around for? Let's go find our captain!" Owen yelled.
We didn't agree on much as a team, but if there was one thing that could always bring us together- it would be anything to do with Jack. Everyone had their own little reasons for why they would want to strangle Jack, but if he's in danger- there's nothing you could to stop us.
We pulled into the location Andy had given us. It was a side street with a few stores, but there were two police cars stationed outside a thin alleyway. Andy was leaning against one of the cars, talking to another office.
We all leapt out of the dark Torchwood car and approached Andy.
"You said you knew where Jack was?" Gwen asked, grabbing his attention.
"Not exactly... but we have a witness who puts him on this street last night at around 10pm." Andy explained, fiddling with his fingers.
"A witness?" Tosh sneered, "do you have a search party out?"
As Andy was explaining his response, I peered down the alleyway. It was shaded by the buildings and their old fire escapes. There were dumpsters and graffiti, the normal alleyway things. I began to walk down the alley, maybe looking for some form of clue that told us that Jack had been here. Just something to tell us he was still alive.
Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted something. It was thrown over the side of a dumpster, as if it was placed there until the owner could return to pick it up. It was Jack's coat.
The dark blue lump of fabric hung in the breeze, giving off the same vibes as a dead body. I reached out to pick it up, and Idrew my hand back when I saw that it had a blood stain on it. I quickly scooped up the coat and ran my hands over it. It was all torn up, caked in blood and gunshots.
As my fingers found their way over many bullet holes, I felt my eyes begin to water. I didn't even try to hold the tears in. I clutched the coat and felt my body go limp. I fell to the ground and began to sob. What had happened? What if he was locked up somewhere? What if someone was torturing him? What's happened to Jack?!
I remained on the ground, the torn coat being held in my hands. I heard footsteps approach. It was bound for someone to notice that I was sobbing in an alleyway.
"Andy!" I heard Gwen hiss. "What are you doing?"
I looked up to see Gwen latched onto Andy's arm just a couple of feet away.
"I'm going to have to take that coat off him." Andy stated.
I held the coat closer to my body, probably looking very pitiful to outside viewers.
"You can't do that." Gwen said firmly.
"But Gwen, it's evidence. If you want to find Jack, we need everything we can ge-"
"Let him have the coat." Gwen interrupted. "Just do one thing for me. I don't care if I'm going to have to owe you a million favours, just do this for me and let him have the coat."
"Gwen, as much as I care for you, it's police standards." Andy sighed, almost as if he actually felt bad.
"I don't care about bloody police standards!" Gwen yelled, her voice shaking, "Ianto has been though enough- we all have! It's been a rough two weeks, he doesn't deserve this. Just let him have the coat."
Andy let out a long sigh and hesitated before speaking. "If the other officers find out, I could be fired."
"Then they don't have to find out." Gwen chirped.
A series of expressions ran over Andy's face, but the time came for him to make up his mind.
"Davidson!" An officer yelled from the other end of the alleyway.
"Sir?" Andy shouted back.
"You got anything down there?"
Gwen and I both glared at Andy, awaiting his response.
"No sir." He finally said. "Nothing."
I couldn't help but smile. Andy had never been the biggest fan of Jack Harkness, but he would always come through for Gwen. I watched as Andy walked out of the alley towards his superior officer.
Gwen kneeled down beside me and looked at the coat in my hands.
"I'm sure we'll find him. Or, he'll find us- But I'm pretty sure we'll see him again." Gwen patted my shoulder as we both stared down at the bloody coat being held in my hands.
This one wasn't too good yikes
I hope you enjoy anyways
