Cole smiled as he sat down at the table, it had been a while since he ate with his family.  

Cole picked up the newspaper the mailman dropped off. Phoenix sat to his left. Jasper to his right and Kai across from him with Iris in her baby seat next to Kai. 

Kai was trying to get Iris to eat, so he started to make weird faces. 

"Dad," Jasper rolled his eyes, "You're making weird faces again,"

"No i'm not," Kai responded, 

Cole glanced up from the paper, "You do make weird faces honey."

Kai playful glared at Cole, "Do you have to read at the table,"

Cole smiled, "Yeah."

Jasper growled as he tried to eat an entire piece of steak in one bite, 

"Smaller bites, Jasper!" Kai shouted, "Cole, can you help the carnivore cut his meat?"

Cole nodded and started to cut the steak; Kai turned to his son, 

"Jasper, you have something to tell your father about school?"

"We learned about Lord Garmadon?" Jasper squeaked out, 

Kai sighed, "Jasper got sent to the office again,"

Cole turned, "What? What for!?"

"Nothing!" Jasper moaned,

"He put on a tack on the teacher's chair. During class,"

"Nobody saw me; you could barely see it on the tape,"

Cole smiled, "They caught you on tape, and you still got away with it? Boy, you must have been going fast, how slow did you slow down time?"

"COLE!" Kai shouted, "We are not encouraging this!"

"I'm not encouraging, I was asking.."

"HONEY!" 

When Kai, Cole, and Jasper had been talking. Cole had accidentally cut through Jasper's plate and got the knife stuck in the table. 

"Great," Cole mumbled, he gave his plate to Jasper, "Here I'll get a new plate." Cole got up and left, 

Kai shook his head, "How about you Phoneix? How was school?"

Phoenix, who had had her head down, looked up, "Nothing to report,"

Kai smiled, "You've hardly touched your food,"

"Not hungry, sorry dad,"

"Kids make fun of you today?" Jasper asked, 

"JASPER!" Kai scolded, 

"No," Phoenix said, "It's fine dad. Yeah, kids did make fun of me today,"

"I'm sorry to hear that sweetheart," Kai put a hand on Phoenix's, "You okay?"

"Yeah. I'll be fine,"

Meanwhile, Cole had opened the paper in the kitchen, and his eye's widened. 

"Hunter Green, a longtime advocate for Ninja rights in missing?" Cole paused for a moment, "Lloyd,"

Lloyd, because everyone knew him from when he was the Golden Ninja, had changed his name. 

"Cole!" 

Cole walked back into the dining room to see, Jasper and Phoneix fighting and Kai trying to hold them back. Jasper was firing different beams of time warping magic while Phoneix used her element; space, to dodge and block.
