Trapped Confessions

The Ninja family watched as Vortex flipped through different TV channels, all of them showing the ship he had sent to New Ninjago City.

"The ship's unique design..."

"There were no fatalities..."

Vortex turned to the family, they were all trapped in the same cage Cole was in, it was just bigger to fit them all. 

"Huh? Huh?" He asked when he didn't receive a response he threw his hands up, but he was smiling, "Oh come on! You gotta admit, this is cool!" 

Vortex spread his arms out, gesturing to the TV, "Just like a movie! The robot will emerge dramatically!"

Vortex poised like a spider about to prance on its pry, "Do some damage," Vortex then mocked fear and ran a few steps, "Throngs of screaming people,"

Vortex stopped right in front of Cole and Kai, who was in the middle, "And just when all hope is lost, Vortex will save the day!"

Vortex started to walk away, "I'll be a bigger hero than you ever were!"

"You mean you killed off real ninjas and heroes so that you could pretend to be one!?" Cole shouted Vortex whipped back around, he stomped forward getting into Cole's face,

"Oh, I'm real! Real enough to defeat two ninjas!!" Vortex stepped back, "And I did it without your precious gifts, your oh-so-special powers. 

Vortex walked over to the TV, he held his arms up, "I'll give them heroics!" He turned to the family, "I'll give them the most spectacular heroics anyone's ever seen!!"

Vortex put a hand to his hip, "And when I'm old and I've had my fun, I'll sell my inventions so everyone can be Ninjas! Everyone can be powerful!"

Vortex chuckled, "And when everyone's powerful,"

Vortex walked away, "No one will be,"

Vortex exited the containment unit, his evil laughter ringing through the metal room.

Vortex smiled as he walked to his plane, nothing could go wrong.

Back in the city, the plane that was holding the robot, split into two. Military soldiers gasped as the robot came to life. It's six, spider-like legs holding the metal ball upright. 

Some soldiers fired, but the bullets didn't do anything. Tanks came rolling in, 

"FIRE AT WILL!!!"

Everyone fired, the bullets didn't even make a mark on the robot, the robot's head turned and a little laser gun came out of the side. It blasted the tanks, destroying three of them with one shot.

Back on the island Cole, Kai, Phoenix, and Jasper watched the TV in horror. 

Cole sighed, "I'm sorry," He said, "This is my fault. I've been a lousy father. Blind to what I have. So obsessed with being undervalued.."

Phoenix frowned then thought of something, she tried to teleport out of her bonds. 

Cole kept talking oblivious to what was happening behind him, "...That I undervalued all of you,"

"Father?" Jasper asked Kai shushed him, 

"Shh. Don't interrupt,"

"So caught up in the past that I...I...You are my greatest adventure. And I almost missed it."

Jasper was trying to stifle his laughter as he looked at his sister. 

"I swear," Cole was saying, "I'm gonna get us out of this safely if I..."
