"We'll find her, dude," Ned was reassuring him constantly. Peter nodded along with his friend's words as he stared at the giant banner that still hung from Oscorp Tower, lit up by a spotlight. "Don't beat yourself up about this. MJ is a fighter. There's no way she's making it easy for those kidnappers."
"But it's Moon Knight, Ned. He only took her to get to Jack. What if he's- I don't know- what if he's torturing her?" The very thought made him feel sick to his stomach.
"Don't think like that. She's gonna be okay," Ned soothed, "That Moon Knight guy has no idea the world of hurt he's in for."
Peter drew a hand over his masked face, mulling over his thoughts. His heart physically hurt, and there was nothing he could do to appease it. It had definitely been one of the worst days of his life, and it was well from being over. It was only just this afternoon that he had been half-drowned.
If villains could really learn to space out their nefarious plans, that would be very much appreciated.
The night felt as cold as the blood in his veins, and as he swung through the city, he tried not to think thoughts that weren't too despairing. He trusted Gwen, as little as he knew her, to find Jack and get him where he needed to be. The werewolf could easily find Peter, and they'd take on Moon Knight together and beat the everliving shit out of him for daring to lay a finger on MJ.
There was a gasp from Ned. "Peter! This facility is huge! It's the most amazing thing I've ever seen! An architectural marvel! I can't believe- oh, Mr.Stark's giving me a look. We're going in now. Do you want me to stay on?"
"No, you do your thing. I'll call you later," Peter sighed, and the line went dead as he landed on the building that lay across the street from the giant skyscraper where the Osborne Penthouse resided. It looked so daunting at night, very few of its windows lit and its balconies shadowed.
He hoped Harry knew something that could help him. He could really use a spot of hope right about now. Not just an address, for he could get that hopefully through Ned and Mr.Stark. Peter wasn't really sure what he was looking for with Harry, but he knew it was something. Something to explain why he acted the way he did when MJ was taken.
After quickly changing into his regular clothes in an alley across the street, he stepped onto the sidewalk. He marched toward the building and climbed into the elevator. He busied himself with staring at MJ's contact info on his phone. He knew there would be no point in calling her, since Moon Knight would have obviously taken her phone, so he resorted to just staring at her number helplessly.
The elevator doors pulled apart and revealed the front door to the Osborn penthouse. Peter then realized that maybe Harry wouldn't be home. He had never taken that possibility into account. But he was here already, so he might as well check.
He knocked nervously on the door and a minute later, it was opened by an elderly, gray-haired gentleman in a nice suit, wearing white gloves and standing perfectly straight. The man must have been some kind of butler.
"Can I help you, young man?" He asked, and Peter nearly choked on his words.
"Uh, I'm a friend of Harry's from school. Is he home?" He asked.
"Yes, he is. Come inside while I fetch him."
Peter nodded and the man stepped aside to let Peter in. He sat down on the couch in front of fireplace as the servant left the room. He twiddled his thumbs, looking around the large penthouse. It was eerily quiet and still. What did Harry do all day? Where was Mr.Osborn?
