Unexpected News

"We're Okay"

The last 5 hours were a blurr of people just going back and forth asking you things while all you could think about was that your husband was on an operating table, going through surgery. You and the rest of the team were all sitting in the hospital waiting room in silence, no one saying a word. Jack spent a good part of 2 hours pacing before he sat down and reluctantly fell asleep, Matty was making phonecalls left and right trying to see if the CIA had arrested the men that shot Mac, Riley was sitting next to you and holding your hand and Bozer had just arrived with coffee for everyone and tea for you.
All you could do was stare forward and wait, and it was destroying you from the inside to just wonder what is going to happen. When Riley got up to go talk to Bozer, Matty finished her call and sat next to you
"Y/N, have you eaten anything?" She asks
All you're capable of doing is shaking your head no.
"Bozer, can you get something for Y/N to eat?"
He nods before going to the cafeteria.
After he came back with a sandwich, you ate it without really feeling like eating anything and started to doze off.
You woke up to Matty calling your name and realizing the doctor was there too you almost jumped out of the chair and you only had the strength to ask one question.
"Is he alive?"
"Yes, he is". Everyone let out a relieved breath and the tears started to fall down your cheeks as he continued "Because the bullet got really close to his heart, he lost a lot of blood, but since the Italian doctors put him in a hiperbaric chamber and stabilized him, we were able to replace the blood so he is going to be okay. The surgery was a lot, so he's gonna be sleeping for a while, but you can go stay with him." He ended smiling
"Thank you! Thank you so much!!!" That's all you were able to say before breaking down in tears completely as Riley hugged you.

After a nurse came to take you to Mac's room, the team stayed behind so you could be with him for a while, and apparently they all needed a shower.
You came into his hospital room, sat on a chair by the bed and held his hand, putting your head on the bed, you fell asleep for God knows how long because you woke up and the team was already in the room and Mac was starting to wake up.
He looked at you and smiled, with tears in your eyes, your lips finally met in a sweet and careful kiss.
"Didn't I tell you to be careful?" You said smiling
He laughed, but then he looked at your face and it looked like you had been crying for days. He put a hand on you cheek and you said
"I was so scared, Mac. I was terrified of losing you, I..." You started to choke up. "I can't lose you, specially now"
He put a hand on your belly and asked "I'm not going anywhere. Are you okay?"
"We're okay" You said smiling and putting your hand on top of his.
And that's when Jack cut into the conversation "Wait a minute, is this? Are you? Is that?" Not being able to finish his sentence, you turned to Mac, who nodded to you in agreement before you turned to the team and let out the big news that you were so terrified of letting out.
"We're having a baby"
And the whole room congratulated you and Mac, before letting you be alone with him. You climbed into bed with him and he put his arm around you and as you fell asleep in his arms, you knew that you could face everything with him by your side.
