Note: this chapter portraits the following day from the last chapter, so Y/N os still at 16 weeks. Thanks for your patience!!

Today was the day Mac finally went back to work and it you two had talked about it extensively, so even though you were worried, you were feeling a lot better about it. Of course you hadn't stop working, but you were a lot more at home lately with Mac, and when you weren't, you were at the war room, at the Phoenix.

You had a doctor's appointment scheduled for this morning, before work. Simple check-up: urine sample, ultrasound and reporting your symptoms. But hearing the heartbeat again was the part you and Mac were looking forward to the most, it never got old.
After examining you, the doctor said
"Well, there are no signs of preeclampsia, which is really good, but try not to experience too much excitement because that could change really fast okay?"
"Okay, hm..." You paused and looked at Mac that was holding your hand.
"You know we're government agents, right?" You ask the doctor
"Yes, and I know I told you to stay off the field..."
"And I am, I'm working from the office, but my husband isn't and I worry a lot, more than usual" you say, before continuing "and I was wondering if me worrying so much could cause any problems"
"Well, it could lower your blood pressure, which is one of the symptoms of preeclampsia" she says
You sigh and tighten your hold on Mac's hand.
"Is there something we can do about that?" Mac asks
"I can't do anything about the blood pressure until it happens, so all I could recommend is for you to drink some tea and try to relax or at least do some breathing exercises when you're too worried..." She says before looking at Mac "And you should do your best not to worry her too much. You two need to find a middle ground about this on your own because only you know what is like"
You and Mac nodd quietly and he gives you a kiss on your forehead.
"I'll run some tests on your urine to see if you have or could develop gestacional diabetes and send you the results by email and you can schedule your 20 week prenatal visit and your mid-pregancy ultrasound with the receptionist, okay?" The doctor finishes
"Okay, thank you for everything" Mac says and you two walk out of the office after he schedules everything.

You're sitting on the passenger seat with the car parked at the Phoenix and you have your hand on your belly, looking out the window and Mac notices that you've been quiet the whole time.
"Babe, are you okay?" He asks
"I don't know" you sigh and look at him before he runs in his seat to face you and grabs your free hand.
"I told you, we're gonna figure this out, okay? So you worrying about something that might happen is not gonna do you any good, or the baby. We just have to enjoy the right now, be happy with what we have cause we have a lot. We have friends, a job we love, we have each other and our little baby..." He says putting his hand on your belly "We'll be okay"
"You're right. We'll be okay" you sigh "You're really good at this huh?" You ask
"At what?"
"Making me feel better" he smiles at your answer and gives you a quick kiss
"I love you, Y/N"
"I love you too" you say "We should go inside, it's your first day back, you shouldn't be late and we have an announcement to make"
He smiles and says "You're right, let's go"
And with that you both enter the Phoenix and go meet with the team.

As you and Mac make your way to the war room you can hear Jack's voice echoing through the halls, along with Riley's and Bozer's voices.
"No, I'm telling you man! It was so Die Hard, the way Mac went down that building. Except it wasn't a fire hose, it was an old electrical wire, but still"
Jack tells Bozer, while Riley just laughs and shakes her head.
"Hey! Good morning guys" Mac says and is greeted by the same pleasantries before Riley hugs you and asks "So? How was the doctor's appointment?"
"It was okay. Everything is okay with the baby" you say with a weak smile that doesn't go unnoticed by your best friend.
"What's wrong?" She asks
"It's nothing, I just have to find some way to not stress to much" you answer
"Oh, I got it! Why don't you and me go shopping for some maternity clothes tomorrow? That will help get your mind off of things" she suggests knowing how much you need a new wardrobe.
"Yeah, I'd like that" you say smiling before Matty shows up and calls everyone to the war room for a new mission.
